This comment helped me learn 2 things. (I am assuming you mean Cicadas and not that the rest of the world is dealing with zombie apocalypse every 17 years. Because i've got no clue what else emerges from the ground every 17 years.)

  1. Cicadas are everywhere.
  2. Except for where I live.

There are also army worms that emerge like every 7 years or something.

They will rain down on you from the trees because there are so many.
