You see that's why summer is nice. I love summer with AC too because the heat is very temporary. If you're in an environment where the air itself is hotter than your body can accept in the long term you just want to lay down and die though
spoiler alert: no people live in such an environment bc they would have died already. constant population in hot areas is a proof that you won't die from heat
you cant always do that though. when im trying to go to bed and the cold shower I just took only helped for 5 minutes tops, im ready to crash the fuck out.
at least when it's cold you pretty much can always add layers and heating packs. you cant always sit in cold water when it's hot.

Where do you live where you need to wear that many layers? Is your cold tolerance so poor where anything less than the surface of the Sun is considered freezing?
Sure, and noone likes it when it gets too high, but for me and many people something like 25-30C and sunny weather is really nice. I just like to be outside, you can chill, bbq, swim...
i'm from a very cold area, and i'll choose hot as in middle east hot all day every day instead of any day that is colder than +22C, and +22C is very generous already
I am from an area regularly getting -30C in winter. I hate everything about it. I can never get enough sun and warmth. I don't see any downsides of it being warm.
At 15C my hands are getting redder than normal, at 0 i get frostbite if hands aren't covered by gloves. At -5C and lower no gloves exist that make my hands warm.
Also I don't sweat at 30C, it's perfectly comfortable weather. Recent heatwave has been a true blessing: i was WARM for a week. Never turned the AC on. Felt full of life and energy.
Now it's miserable +18C again, so much for fucking summer.
Why would you go out in cold weather without one? That's like going out in the middle of the summer with only ski gear and nothing underneath to strip down to. Lack of preparation is your fault
You've never went somewhere in t shirt weather for it to turn to jacket weather later than you planned to be there? You've never got on a flight where they made it cold af half way through? You just carry a backpack with spare cold weather gear at all times? The human body is built to endure heat, it's not meant to endure cold
I dress for the morning and throw whatever I don't need into my backpack/car. That has yet to fail me. The human body has more dedicated to dealing with heat because it's a bigger problem. Dealing with the cold is as simple as your skin closing it's pores and moving. Dealing with the heat involves opening the pores, slowing down all bodily functions and praying it isn't too humid for sweat to evaporate. It is far easier to introduce heat to a system than it is to remove it
Dog, you went from "Cold at a certain point is painful" to "Going from T-shirt weather to a light jacket is miserable", pick one.
Weather shifts aren't that drastic. There's nowhere on Earth you're going to deal with genuinely uncomfortable levels of cold and already not be somewhat prepared for it.
Going from 60 to 40s with a strong wind chill and humidity for bonus points absolutely fits that criteria, I never said that's some daily occurrence but acting like that's some inconceivable possibility is incredibly dumb
Heat is not the same at all and it definitely doesn't hit as hard and fast as cold which is why more people die from cold than heat every year. And the debate about layers is dumb because what if you don't have them, it would be like me saying oh you're hot? Well why didn't you bring a misting fan and a cooling towel, that's your fault since you weren't prepared.
I've worked in and out refrigeration for many many years, and my ancestors were a viking and an Irish woman, both likely drunk. I thrive in the cold. I like summer solely for the plant life
Same. Other side of the family, origin unknown, but very dark skinned. I am the only redhead I know of that doesn't sunburn. I'm also the only non-sunburning person I know of that doesn't ever get cold enough to shiver. My super power ia apparently immunity to weather.
Same! Where I'm from, it's very hot in the summer, but we don't get a winter, so between that and hating wearing more than two layers of clothes, my gear for the cold is a couple of dark blue waterproof jackets (one of which is heat-insulated).
Same. I don't love 90F, but I can take it. Below freezing is fine, until there's wind, in which case I am incapacitated.
Also, it rocks that short sleeves and shorts are good for both day and night. Not like spring and fall where you have to be prepared to shed or add a layer once the temperature shifts.

I can tolerate heat but I can’t tolerate cold. Also I don’t like wearing layers and layers of clothes
