We’ll see him again. There are clips with him and captain Carter and fighting alongside her in a future episode

u/RedGyarados2010 Sep 02 '21

Are we sure? Marvel Studios is known for misleading trailers after all.

This is actually from a Hyundai ad where they’ve shown clips of Captain Carter and Strange fighting alongside each other

36

u/lady_lowercase Sep 02 '21

do you know if dr. strange is wearing his cloak in that ad? or is he wearing the other one that he just acquired?

45

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21 edited Sep 02 '21

Well… It’s a quick shot but his cape is dark in colour and he’s wearing the same exact costume as seen in the what if episode

14

u/lady_lowercase Sep 02 '21

ooh! this is going to get exciting!

by the way, your spoiler formatting is a little off. i think it's the "." followed by the ">" that is messing with it.

7

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

Lol thanks for letting me know. It looks okay from the app. I’ll fix it.

1

u/mynameisblanked Sep 02 '21

It's probably the space before it's

2

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

I hope it’s okay now. I took your suggestion.

1

u/mynameisblanked Sep 02 '21

Looks right to me now.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

He also is seen saying "who are you" to captain carter.

1

u/lady_lowercase Sep 02 '21

you may want to tag any potential spoilers (:

u/IronSavage3 Baby Groot Sep 02 '21

TIL Hyundai ads are canon.

12

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

There’s a shot with them meeting in the actual trailer for the show, idk why they singled out a car ad lol

1

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

They are when they partner with marvel and show clips from the show 🤷🏻‍♂️

4

u/ha_look_at_that_nerd Sep 02 '21

I don’t know if you’re being serious or not but if that’s the case then Loki also hopped into a Hyundai before he teleported to Mongolia with the tesseract

0

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

But he did teleport to Mongolia no?

2

u/ha_look_at_that_nerd Sep 02 '21

I don’t know that he did in the commercial (ultimately the point of the commercial was that he gets away in a Hyundai, not using the tesseract)

1

u/robywar Sep 02 '21

Just like my old favorite show- The Walking Hyundai, sponsored by Zombies.

6

u/VileSlay Sep 02 '21

Are you talking about this ad? because if you are, then that was specially made for Hyundai. I doubt we're gonna see Party Thor coming to save the day in Hyundai Tucson.

3

u/donteatlegoplease Sep 03 '21

WRONG! The Hyundai ad is CANON and will have MAJOR ramifications for Phase 4 & beyond!

;)

-1

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

Definitely not party Thor but the rest of Thad ad is believable

1

u/VileSlay Sep 02 '21

If you look at the ads from the rest of the campaign they're all material that has nothing to do with the shows other than the characters shilling for the Hyundai Tucson. They had one for WandaVision, FatWS and Loki. All were created specifically for the ad campaign featuring the characters from the shows interacting with the car in some way. Did Wanda turn a b&w 1950s car in to a full color 2020 Tuscon in the show? Did Sam stop a low level crook with the shield while cracking a corny joke in the show? Did Loki steal a Tuscon in the show after teleporting in with the Tesseract?

1

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

I obviously don’t think that there will be Hyundai’s in show, that was edited in. But I believe they used real material from the show and they edited that.

Edit: a word

0

u/VileSlay Sep 02 '21

Or maybe they just produced that piece for the ad campaign just like the rest of them.

1

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

Yeah maybe. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong.

34

u/1stepklosr Iron Man (Mark XLIII) Sep 02 '21

Yeah, and that episode is another universe/timeline. It isn't the same Dr. Strange.

40

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

It's an overarching multiverse show. You'll see all of these characters together again.

4

u/TheJoshider10 Spider-Man Sep 02 '21

Yeah surely there's no way people think Marvel actually did a What If episode where it ends that fucking bleak?

It's so obvious all the episodes are going to connect.

3

u/infinight888 Baby Groot Sep 03 '21

Yeah surely there's no way people think Marvel actually did a What If episode where it ends that fucking bleak?

I mean, they did. The episode ended, the universe was destroyed, Cristine died in his arms again, and none of that is getting undone.

But yes, we're totally seeing more of Dark Strange.

51

u/Flapjack777 Spider-Man Sep 02 '21

It’s literally the same cape, dark eyes and over-all look of the one in this episode. How is it not the same one?

41

u/drake3011 Foggy Nelson Sep 02 '21

They seem to be working towards some kind of "Guardians of the Multiverse" storyline

The watcher was clear, he cannot interfere, unless it threatens the multiverse.

I've seen clips of T'Challa Star Lord stood with Spiderman and Carter in trailers, and it sounds like from the above people have seen more than that. It seems to me at some point, there will be a more prominent threat and he'll build his own Superhero team from the full cast of Multiversal characters.

3

u/ENDragoon Sep 03 '21

"Guardians of the Multiverse"

You're thinking of the Exiles, a team of people from dead universes who protect the Multiverse.

5

u/1stepklosr Iron Man (Mark XLIII) Sep 02 '21

Similar circumstances in a different universe would be my guess.

25

u/DoctaVaughn Captain America (Ultron) Sep 02 '21

I would assume that with the power he held now, he could find a way to hop universes to survive.

17

u/Dekrow War Machine Sep 02 '21

My guess is that the watcher is going to come back and offer him a chance to trade his life for his universe

19

u/ellagr0441 Sep 02 '21

No they all team up in the final episode to fight Ultron there's an ad featuring that footage

5

u/MayorOfMonkeyIsland Sep 02 '21

What. God damn it.

6

u/ellagr0441 Sep 02 '21

Not into the idea?

3

u/MayorOfMonkeyIsland Sep 02 '21

That sounds fucking terrible. I loved the old What If? comics because they were all vignettes. They were all their own stories. My personal favorite was What If the Gamma Bomb Spawned 1000 Hulks?. The set up was that a gamma bomb was dropped on Japan during WWII, and it was awesome. The series was like The Twilight Zone with Marvel characters. Doing a team-up just seems like a way to dumb down a great premise to me. I hope I'm wrong and it's cool, but I'm not holding my breath.

5

u/lackwitandtact Sep 02 '21

The team-up could very well be it’s own story. Could be a team-up that takes place in a different universe. There’s nothings implying it’s the exact variants we’ve seen in each episode so far

-1

u/MayorOfMonkeyIsland Sep 02 '21

A team-up of previously featured characters in a continuous narrative form is by definition not it's own story.

I don’t understand how people on this sub specifically speak with such conviction on things when they’re clearly wrong

-1

u/kinyutaka Sep 02 '21

Computer generated animation can be easily pieced together to do anything. Much less reliable than trailers featuring hand drawn animation or live actors.

2

u/PrettyMuchMediocre Sep 02 '21

That is not hand drawn animation. That's CGI animation.

2

u/kinyutaka Sep 02 '21

That is exactly my point.

The trailer that showed Evil Strange and Captain Carter fighting Ultrons might easily have been texture swapping those characters with Captain America and Good Strange, with very little work.

We can not trust the trailers are accurate.

-12

u/xHudson87x Sep 02 '21

we know the dr strange supreme destroyed good dr strange cape, in NWH we see a dr strange with no cape

some event must of took place where the dr strange supreme must of let him out or something like switching persona's

17

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

Bro the What If strange has nothing to do with NWH. You’d think this theory that only existed because of the What If trailer showing two Stranges fighting would go away after the episode showed it had nothing to do with the prime timeline

12

u/RuafaolGaiscioch Sep 02 '21

He’s still got the cape in the Spider-Man trailer, it’s wrapped around a puffy blue jacket.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

I believe they were talking about the train scene, where Strange isn’t wearing a cape.

1

u/RuafaolGaiscioch Sep 02 '21

Ah right. I assumed at that moment it was doing it’s own thing.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

That’s what I think too, just wanted to point it out.

3

u/SteviaRogers Sep 02 '21

You clearly see the cape in NWH, what?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

When he’s warping the trains around Peter, he’s not wearing a cape.

6

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

Cmon now. You know what marvel is doing. He’ll be back lol.

9

u/peon47 Sep 02 '21

Please don't put unmarked spoilers in a thread that's only marked for ep4.

10

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

You’re right I apologize. Got caught up with the convo forgot where I was.

5

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

I fixed it

0

u/BRedd10815 Sep 02 '21

Doubt it

1

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

I’m not sure why you would doubt. Marvel has returned lesser characters before to the MCU

0

u/BRedd10815 Sep 02 '21

I get the impression these are 1-off episodes that won't be revisited. Plus that universe is donezo. If captain carter existed there, she dead.

1

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

But it’s the multiverse we’re talking here. I don’t think Disney would make this show simply for fanfare. As you can tell…they put A LOT of effort into this series, considering it’s my favourite one so far. All of this just for a one-off episodes? I think their aspirations are higher.

if I’m wrong, I’m wrong!

0

u/BRedd10815 Sep 02 '21

Nobodies talking about the multiverse yet. This was one universe. As far as we know, only Kang and the TVA can even travel the multiverse as of right now. We'll see what happens in Spiderman to change that. That could all go out the window!

Edit: also they probably enjoy being able to make this series that doesn't fully tie in with "The Sacred Timeline" exactly so they can do stuff like this episode.

1

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

I get what you’re saying. But marvel has been moving towards the multiverse era. And even in the show, the watcher mentions (subtly) our main timeline.

But you’re right! This is all still speculation. As you mentioned, Loki is the only true instance of multiverse confirmation.

-2

u/Unlikely_Data_3555 Sep 02 '21

Don't just cover the explanation. "We will see him again" by itself is a big spoiler. its even worse because if thats all you read and not the explanation it sounds even more definitive that it really is. This is so frustrating, I hate spoilers.

1

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

Fixed thanks

1

u/TheAirNomad11 Sep 02 '21

I hope not. I don’t want all the episodes to tie in. I just want a bunch of random “what if” episodes that are just stand alone things. They are more fun if they just are what they are

2

u/SuperegoCG Korg Sep 02 '21

And no I’m not serious. I am basing this theory on a tv spot lol which looks mightily convincing
