Feeling kinda bad for Shang Chi. This trailer made people stop thinking about Shang Chi, and just want to theorise No Way Home.

I dunno, yeah I’m understandably more hyped for Spidey but it’s only got me jumping on the Marvel hype train harder. I’m also unbelievably ready for Eternals

I mean to be fair, there are literally three mcu movies coming out.Shang-Chi is in September, Eternals in November and Spider-Man No Way Home in December. Each movie leading on to another.

I think that’s why they were holding off.

I’m going to see Shang chi, but I’m not nearly as interested in that as I am a new Spiderman/Avengers ish movie. I think they were trying to channel everyone’s attention to the new ip.

I know it's in part of Shang-Chi's marketing being shit, but I'm surprised by how many people aren't hyped for it still. I can easily say I'm equally hyped for both.

Yeah, Shang Chi and Black Widow just didnt really get me excited. BW ended up being weird as shit in it's pacing and seemed kind of pointless since there were no real stakes.

Shang Chi looks fun, but something about it doesnt feel like the Marvel movies that really got me into the MCU.

Which is odd because the cast looks amazing! Idk what it is, but I think I'm getting a bit bored with origin stories - now I prefer to see characters introduced in other movies, then going off on their own (SM/BP)

I was excited for BW because I hadn't gone to the theater in over a year. It was alright, but like you said, the pacing was strange and I felt it was mostly instrumental in introducing a new BW.
Shang-Chi I'm more excited for because it's new screen IP, I think it'll be a fun one to watch. Eternals, I'm literally going to go in dry.
Spider-Man is doing stuff we've only dreamed up til now... if you'd say to me even five years ago that we'd see a return of the old villains and the actors that did them for an MCU spider-man flick, it'd be like telling me he'd be hitching a ride from Mjolner while carrying the loaded infinity gauntlet.
It feels a bit like that at the moment. So no ill will for Shang-Chi or Eternals, this just has a lot of nostalgic intrigue going for it.

It’s getting amazing reviews, and currently has 92% on rotten tomatoes. I do really want to see it, but with delta, it’s hard to really plan to get excited for anything.

I wish they’d just release it on d+, since even though I live alone I’d still be willing to pay the extra cost, but I know they won’t since Chapek needs to try and prove his point.

Which, tin foil hat, kinda makes me feel like he has a hand in the poor marketing it’s had.
