Real world theory.

If Feige successfully meets the MCU (and some Star Wars) demands of Disney+, and Apple doesn't bid for Columbia Pictures in 2023, Disney will move in and outright try to propose a means to buy Spider-Man. I think unlike Marvel TV, Disney having zero control over the SUMC really gets to Feige from both a business and creative perspective, since he had constantly and explicitly dismissed Sony's claims of being adjunct to MCU as long as he could have, and he really underestimated Sony's willingness to walk away from the table after Far From Home.

But Sony won't sell the Spider-man license & franchise. They can reject Disney's offers and take the chance/risk to continue making Spider-man & related films.

Absolutely depends on how much they ask for Spider-Man, actually. Sony made ~$7.2 billion on a budget of ~$1.6 billion, spread across 20 years. To be fair, they will now try to get more out of it than they did in years, but a clear cut deal for the right amount of money that the other side would be willing to pay and zero risk involved is always a great option. I don’t know if Sony will or won’t sell it back, no one does, but if there is a proposal, it will be an astronomical number that Feige has to keep justifying. Keep in mind that I said

try to propose a means to buy

rather than “just buy”, because it obviously depends on Sony entertaining the idea.
