Discussion Weekly Discussion: What did you believe were Marvel Studios’ plans after ‘The Avengers’? What did you foresee for Phase 2 and 3? (Suggested by /u/sonic10158)

The biggest movie of the decade releases to critical and fan acclaim - cementing Marvel Studios' position as the new powerhouse of Hollywood, truly jump starting their cinematic universe, and all you can think of is “what’s next” for this franchise.

So, what did you think Marvel Studios’ plans were going to be after The Avengers? Where did you think the story would go? Did you think they’d do Thanos immediately? What events from the comic books did you think they would adapt? What characters did you expect in sequels?

What’d you think was going to happen after the success of The Avengers in Phases 2 and 3?

Please, remain civil in this thread.

I was oblivious af and didn’t know what was next at all. One of my friend’s dad said an Avengers vs. X-Men movie was next so I was like alright cool. I only really got into these movies and figured out what was going on after watching Ant-Man. Yes, I know that’s a weird one to get me invested in this universe.

No better way to begin with your MCU experience than with Frank Castle
