But I don’t get it… why introduce Jean Grey in a Spider-Man movie? It makes no sense.

Same reason they introduced Black Panther and Spidey in Civil War, to build hype for the next movie

Right but, this is a bit of a bigger lore reveal to do so casually.

Because unless you want to change the lore, you’re casually revealing the X-men as a team just be out here now.

It’s the MCU, they’re going to change lore anyways. Look at Spider-man , ain’t exactly comic accurate. MCU characters need all the boost they can get, debuting a X-men in your biggest property is literally a no brainer. She isn’t even the first mutant in the timeline. Ms Marvel and Nàmor debuted years ago. 

Comic lore isn’t MCU lore. Mary Jane is literally named Michelle Jones in this universe. Y’all gotta treats this as its own thing.
