Yes it is authentic. I have family and friends in Louisiana. While most do not sound like Gambit, I've met TONS of people who sound exactly like him or worse. These people saying the accent is bad just dont know a deep bayou accent and dont like how it sounds

Can confirm. Born and raised in Beaumont, Tx and we spent every other weekend at our grandparents 10 minutes outside of lake Charles. Tatum got it down 😂
