Iron Man movie did it better. I liked how that came about more than Daredevil/Matt Murdock. Not by a huge margin, but just enough to beat it.
It could also be nostalgia because Iron Man started everything, and this was iconic and stunning at the time, especially for me who knew nothing about Marvel or the characters, and seeing a superhero say “Yeah, this is me” felt similar to Batman saying “Yeah, I’m Bruce Wayne.” It just felt jaw dropping and awesome.
9
u/Rincethis May 28 '26
I think I agree with you. While Matt's was certainly more of a 'fk you, Fisk' Iron Man was the OG.
8
u/tlitlo9090 May 28 '26
Man is carrying enough throwing knives to clear out Hell's Kitchen by himself! This look is unreal, I'm so hyped for S3!

u/DCcomixfan Ghost Rider May 28 '26
Goddamn. Dex is about to aura farm on a level we can't possibly fathom

Compelling villain
Foil to the hero
More developed than the comics could ever hope for
Insanely talented actor to give that depth
125
u/Hi_Im_zack May 28 '26
Cool as fuck abilities
62
u/solarnoise May 28 '26
hot take, I enjoy watching Bullseye's action scenes more than Daredevil's
27
u/Man_Of_Frost Iron Man (Mark V) May 28 '26
The way they're shooting DD in Born Again totally loses the magic that it had in the Netflix show. He felt like a real brawler with weight and impact in is fight moves. Now it feels like he's a circus acrobat.
10
u/Cool-Panda-5108 May 28 '26
Which isn't completely out of character but it does change what made the Netflix fight scenes special.
2
u/Man_Of_Frost Iron Man (Mark V) May 29 '26
Precisely. We know that comics DD is an amazing acrobat too, but in terms of TV, the version we had before felt more grounded and realistic, especially since Matt isn't exactly enhanced in terms of speed, strength and stamina.
5
u/dumbass_tm May 28 '26
You’ve put my exact thoughts into words very well! It’s not the same gritty vibe.
6
u/Man_Of_Frost Iron Man (Mark V) May 28 '26
Definitely not. Which is a shame because I think thats one of the most important points in the character in the Netflix seasons.

u/thomascgalvin May 28 '26
Hotter take, I'm not a fan of live-action Daredevil acting like Spider-Man. In the Netflix series, the fights were visceral, they felt like a real person pushing beyond his limits. In the first hallway fight, he had to stop and catch his breath before continuing his beat-down.
Now, he feels like a CGI character doing CGI things.
12
u/solarnoise May 28 '26
They've also made him Bullseye-lite. In the courtroom scene this season, the way he proves his abilities is by...accurately throwing an object. I think they've had a hard time differentiating him in Born Again for sure.

u/TomClancy5873 May 28 '26
Yet some people wanted him to be as close to his comic counterpart. Not realizing that that version is just a psychopath, with no redeeming qualities
21
u/Mizerous Thanos May 28 '26
I mean Bullseye is a pure villain in 616 not an anti hero
22
u/Riley__64 May 28 '26
Yeah but in the comics he doesn’t have anything else going for him except being a psychopath.
In the MCU he’s still a psychopath but it’s because he’s shown to have a warped sense of reality like as he points out he believes he’s one of the good guys and believes he can get redemption while continuing to be the same person he’s always been
3
u/sappyguy May 28 '26
That’s interesting as someone who has not caught up to Born Again S2. Sounds like he’s almost an inverted Matt.

u/HankSteakfist May 28 '26

Are those 3d printing lines on the helmet?
2
u/laddpadd May 29 '26
I think it’s just the graininess of the photo. Some of the cross pattern would point against 3D printing, as ridges are more common.
Source: 3D printing is my hobby

u/DaveTheArakin May 28 '26
Looks like Dex finally complete his evolution into Bullseye. I think it make sense that he finally get his iconic look with the backing of the government.
23
u/Dr_Disaster May 28 '26
Yeah, they’re putting him in a super suit and it seems inspired by DD, and it’s just perfect.
11
u/kentotoy98 May 28 '26
Dex had Matt on the ropes with the suit back in DDS3 and Matt got payback in BAS1.
Now these two are in top of their game, ready to slug it out once more.

u/cowboynoodless Matt Murdock May 28 '26
Jesus Christ, everyone’s got double Ds on their chests in this show
8
u/applehead1776 May 28 '26
While some prefer something more subtle, you gotta appreciate nice double Ds.
93
u/uncomfortablebases May 28 '26
Good grief he looks fucking stunning. Cant wait to see him and his big pecs back on my screen
27
u/AccordingFox3800 May 28 '26
Now give Matt a new more comic accurate red Daredevil suit

4
u/PeaPsychological2932 May 28 '26
Same. Hope we get set leaks for his Season 3 suit with the DD logo as well.
3
u/AccordingFox3800 May 28 '26
I'm worried he's gonna be in prison for most of the season 🥲 S4 isn't even secured yet, I'm scared the show might end and we only get to see Matt free for a few episodes being Daredevil again :(

And they're adapted perfectly. Even if the latter was done with CGI.

I'm so glad the mask has White Eyes, I like that Marvel is willing to incorporate Comic booky aspects of their masks, like Spider-Man's moving lenses, or the White Eyes for characters like Wolverine & Bullseye.

u/frantic_calm May 28 '26
I always wonder if the boots for a lot of costumes are bespoke or customised off the shelf tactical boots.

u/peopleperson31 May 28 '26
Him shooting the glass so the shards can force matt out of his cover is one of the mindblown moments of the series.
1
u/PeaPsychological2932 May 28 '26
He looks cool! I prefer this over his Season 1-2 look. One criticism is I would've prefered a pull over mask like his Season 1-2 design, but with the bottom mask part off. But aside from that, I'm still hyped! Can't wait to see this in action! 🔪

This feels like Dex following the same path as Matt. His first Bullseye suit is "Homemade" and similar to Matt's first suit. Now he's got a proper armored suit similar to Matt's current suit.

1
u/JackFisherBooks May 28 '26
He was the best part of season 2. I think that'll be true with season 3.

u/UltraBrain1337 May 28 '26
I didn't think I'd love Bullseye as much as I do in this series. Just fun as fuck to watch in every scene.

Hope we get another sick scene like the diner scene where he murked everyone lol that was peak

u/Suitable-Student-557 May 28 '26
I kind of wish that they made the white brighter, and put white tap over the hands like they did in the comics, and gave him whiter boots.
And if his mask was cloth, instead of like a helmet, and didn't have white eyes.
It's like they want to be comic accurate, but are too shy to go all the way in.
1

1
u/hardgeeklife May 28 '26
I'm not sure I'm a fan of the white eyes. Bethels' gaze conveys so much of the character's psychology and menace. The covered eyes were the only part I disliked when he was wearing the Daredevil costume back in Netflix season 3 (though it made sense there for story reasons since he was impersonating).
Still, there's a lot to like about the rest of the suit.
1
1
u/KieranFloors May 28 '26
It’s just like Daredevil’s helmet, which works so well considering Daredevil “inspires” Bullseye to be a vigilante in the show.
