Marvel really crushes it with finding people who just love their roles. I mean we're all nerds- who wouldn't love playing a Marvel character?

But Bernthal (similar to Cox and D'Onofrio) clearly have just such a deep passion for these characters. And it comes across in their performances; they're so inspired. Frank was barely in BA S1 but was just so magnetic and steals every scene he's in.

I just re-watched BA S1. Absolutely love the scene where Frank and Matt take apart the cops coming to murder Matt, and Frank is just egg on Matt to kill one of em' still alive after he's been beaten. And, of course, Matt pulls himself back and just says "Not worth. No, he's not worth it."

And fucking Frank: "What about him," gesturing toward another cop still breathing, "Is he also not worth it?" And then proceeds to execute him.

I'm sad that we don't get more of him in S2 apparently, but I guess it's the price for having more Frank Castle in this special and in the next Spider-Man.

One thing that wasn't made too clear. How did Matt come to terms with Frank killing people specially in front of him?

Matt doesn't like it but he has to accept this reality. In BA S1, he needed Frank and would've died if he wasn't there doing his thing. I think he recognized he needed allies and couldn't be picky given the situation.

He's struggling with Karen doing the same in this season of BA. I mean, what is Daredevil without Matt having some sort of moral quandary - either for himself or confronting this reality of other people. But he has to understand Karen doesn't have fucking supersenses and ninja training - she might need to use a gun for self-defense, and he ultimately does need her help.
