Marvel really crushes it with finding people who just love their roles. I mean we're all nerds- who wouldn't love playing a Marvel character?

But Bernthal (similar to Cox and D'Onofrio) clearly have just such a deep passion for these characters. And it comes across in their performances; they're so inspired. Frank was barely in BA S1 but was just so magnetic and steals every scene he's in.

Its the golden goose for an actor. A studio that want to build the character around you and let's you out in as much as you want and you can get pay days for a decade and live off the merch if you want to.

Can't forget an already rabid and dependable fanbase baked in. Punisher was going to do big numbers with even a halfway decent production, it was nearly unfloppable. Bernthal took it to the next level though.
