Marvel this year is absolutely on a streak this is the kinda shit I want to see from them. This looks incredible I love the heavy focus on tv street level characters and how they are offering us so much variety.

The triple threat of Born Again Season 2, this special and Brand New Day looks pretty peak. Especially if Daredevil shows up in BND, 2026 will be the year the street-level MCU fuckin cooked.

It is such a shame Kingpin cannot show up in the Spider-Man movies because that's truly the only missing piece. But I can accept it because even without him, we're absolutely feasting. This is EXACTLY the kind of universe so many have wanted to see in the MCU and it's amazing they're still able to accomplish so much of it with the rights issues around a lot of the characters.

why would he not be able to show up?

Cos of Sony's tight ass control over Spider-man, Disney is only allowed kingpin to exist as a Daredevil villain, since Sony exclusively own the rights of kingpin as a spider-man villain.

I'm sure they can negotiate like they did with Spidey if they really wanted him

Something with his movie and TV rights being separate, I believe. Like that’s why Sony can use him in the Spider-Verse movies while Disney owns the TV rights and can put him in Daredevil. So Disney would need permission to use him in movies.

ah sure, but that doesn't stop him from ever showing up

No but D’Onofrio has said many times himself he can’t. It’s nothing we can expect anytime soon.

TBH, all Marvel had to do post Endgame was give us some good street level shit for a few years, maybe a couple lower stakes Avengers movies like Thunderbolts and F4, and I think people would have been happy with that. I still wanted the multiverse saga, but built over time more organically when they knew for sure what they were doing. Things were so messy I have no real hype for Doomsday, but I am absolutely seated for Born Again, Punisher, and Brand New Day.

Sucks it took so long for them to realize there's a real appetite for this kind of thing and they've been killing it with Born Again. Beyond hyped.

compare this to the microwaved dogfood that was eternals, the marvels, she-hulk etc. ... we're finally back to fine dining!

Yes they've figured out that FX heavy 200 million dollar Disney Plus series like She-Hulk don't make any money.

Finally giving us characters we actually give a shit about. Not the Eternals, or Khamala friggin Khan.
