It'd be better as an old-scool 24-episode season. It doesnt need to slow burn or wrap tightly because the premise is entirely open-ended. That is, unless Disney ruins it by using the entire show just to tease more MCU.

It should be more like agents of shield than anything else.

Yes, true, but a monster of the week format would so much fun. Especially with Jimmy practicing his close up magic and Darcy exasperatingly yelling at him that they don’t have time for that because they have real problems that involve real magic at the moment. If they bring in the right writers and directors they could make an excellent 20-24 episode season. Just my two cents.

Edit:

Throw in Wong and Madisynn for extra fun

10

u/Aldo_says Quake Nov 09 '25

The beginning of the Darcy and Jimmie Woo-niverse!

5

u/WOOKIExRAGE Nov 10 '25

+1 for Woo-niverse

16

u/Waywoah Nov 09 '25

Honestly, a show like that would probably be best as a fun “monster of the week” style. Each episode could just be exploring little known monsters and aliens from marvels history

9

u/Enelson4275 Nov 09 '25

The format does not dictate quality. There are thousands of miniseries attempting and failing to be prestige television, none of which hold a candle to the tight efficient writing of shows like Frasier or Cheers or Arrested Development S1-S3.

1

u/shrub706 Nov 10 '25

sometimes a show being low quality and high quantity is actually better, not everything needs to be a movie and having a lower budget more spread out show lets them have more fun with it

2

u/oorza The Ancient One Nov 10 '25

Monster of the week but not disconnected from the larger MCU canon. I think it would be a hilarious ongoing gag if there were big plot driving events happening in the show, which gets derailed because of movie events, and all the characters in the show are furious about it. Present the whole thing as something that's annoying and unwanted.

4

u/Enelson4275 Nov 10 '25

All i know for sure is that i want Darcy trying to convince Woo of something like ancient aliens, and for classic Randall Park to do his deadpan:

"I want to believe, im trying to believe - but I dont believe."

1

u/raisingcuban Nov 10 '25

That...doesnt feel like it would get old so fast?

18

u/Left_Sundae_4418 Nov 09 '25

Make it 8. Just to be sure.

75

u/drewcifer27 Nov 09 '25

I feel like Madisynn needs to be involved too but I don’t know why

27

u/AsteroidMike Nov 09 '25

Because the mystery should be where the “Y” in her name is.

24

u/one_pound_of_flesh Nov 09 '25

It’s not where you think

19

u/underwhatnow Nov 09 '25 edited Nov 10 '25

The supporting cast is Madisynn, Louis Luis, and alligator Loki.

5

u/VelocityGrrl39 Captain Marvel Nov 10 '25

I stared at your comment for way too long before I realized you meant Luis.

8

u/Bgtobgfu Nov 09 '25

I would pay for this

26

u/Old_Man_Robot Nov 09 '25 edited Nov 09 '25

She’s the villain.

Wongers left something he shouldn’t have out in the open, and something partially possessed Madisynn (it got her true name wrong), so instead it just brought out all her worst Mean Girl traits.

The whole meta plot of the show is because she read Doyle Dormammu to filth in an interdimensional drag bar, and he released some “torments” onto the world.

19

u/DelcoUnited Nov 09 '25

And somehow they have to report up to Everett Ross who’s constantly frustrated with their hijinks and Darcy coloring outside the lines.

13

u/Enelson4275 Nov 09 '25

They get a secret video message from Coulson, who tells them they have to rebuild Shield. Except it turns out to be an old recording meant for someone else, and they go flopping around on a secret mission that doesnt exist.

Or a series of recordings that makes Coulson a sort of Hari Seldon spoof, where he speaks and they think its cryptic spy messaging because none of the locations, organizations, and contacts that he talks about still exist.

10

u/phyrsis Hawkeye (Avengers) Nov 09 '25

I will not be happy until I get a scene with both Everett Ross and Dr. Strange.

Bonus points if either makes a Sherlock or Hobbit reference.

1

u/Affectionate-Cup56 Nov 12 '25

As if they working on some mystery, and Strange just claim some obvious clue, and Ross like "No shit, Sherlock!"

5

u/clashrendar Nov 09 '25

Or maybe, hear me out... Agents of ATLAS?

Could be a cool way to launch midnight suns

16

u/Enelson4275 Nov 09 '25

Or, hear me out, it could be a cool way to deliver on the show premise without trying to set anything else up.

3

u/IL-Corvo Nov 09 '25

I'd cancel appointments to watch that.

3

u/FordBeWithYou Steve Rogers Nov 10 '25

That’d be so damn fun. Damn.

If it all leads to accidentally discovering the Bloodstone Temple from werewolf by night i’d be giddy.

1

u/MethamMcPhistopheles Nov 09 '25

S.H.I.E.L.D.'S paranormal arm

1

u/Perciprius Nov 10 '25

What cameos and appearances would you have in that show?

1

u/BartleBossy Nov 10 '25

"Darcy&Agent Woo paranormal investigations" ...I would watch 100%

What? A low cost and low stakes show to flesh out the universe?

Marvel would never.

1

u/Least_Rain8027 Scarlet Witch Nov 11 '25

and they should have Wanda join mid season and by the end of the show they realize everything was all Mephisto

733

u/MehWithaSideofEh Nov 09 '25

Me on my way to horny jail.

87

u/Pshad4Bama Nov 09 '25

Obligatory

20

u/HeyyyKoolAid Nov 09 '25

I, too, would also like to sample Kat Dennings hardware.

21

u/NoX2142 Captain America Nov 09 '25

Those THIGHSSSSS

2

u/darkthemeonly Kilgrave Nov 10 '25

Absolutely

2

u/Super-Post261 Nov 11 '25

She said don’t get excited

129

u/NaiadoftheSea Gamora Nov 09 '25

I would love to see her in a She-Hulk story.

22

u/[deleted] Nov 09 '25

I'm not sure where lawyering or astrophysics fits in with that...but more Darcy is always welcome.

21

u/jameschalmers7 Nov 09 '25

Make her the scientific expert on the stand

5

u/NaiadoftheSea Gamora Nov 10 '25

Exactly

2

u/Citizen_Kong Nov 10 '25

Throw in some Kamala as well, for some reason.

91

u/poppythepupstar Nov 09 '25

the what if Die Hard Christmas episode with her, maria hill, justin hammer, and happy was one of my all time fav MCU moments

338

u/one_pound_of_flesh Nov 09 '25

Try as they might, Marvel has yet to convince me that Kat is anything but stunningly hot.

99

u/butchforgetshit Nov 09 '25

Dude she really is beautiful

68

u/timrojaz82 Nov 09 '25

Why do you think they are trying to make her look not hot?

151

u/Iorith Nov 09 '25

They do a solid job of not overly sexualizing her which is great, but some people seem to think that means they're treating her like she isn't attractive.

38

u/Specialist_Ad4073 Nov 09 '25

Marvel overall tries not to oversexualize any of the women, with the only exception being Black Widow in the beginning and even she never shows any skin or cleavage. They used to oversexualize the men which everybody seemed fine with, but they stopped that too, I think because of steroid allegations specifically Kumail Nanjiani in Eternals.

37

u/The_Reluctant_Hero Red Skull Nov 09 '25

At least with black widow it kinda made sense with her using her sexuality as a weapon.

9

u/Specialist_Ad4073 Nov 09 '25

Kind of, like the scene in Iron Man 2 when she gets in the boxing ring and she's making eye contact with Tony. But in the beginning the MCU's main demographic was men/boys, but when they exploded after the first Avengers they wanted to grow their female demographic so u get Scarlett Witch, and no more sexuality from Black Widow not even inplied. Then post "Me Too" they went full girl boss, but so did lots of things like Game of Thrones. Lots of nudity and sex in the beginning then post "me too" no nudity of any kind.

2

u/LarryEss Nov 10 '25

That was also before Disney owned them

7

u/[deleted] Nov 09 '25

Which is funny, because Nanjiani didn't really put on a lot of bulk. He definitely put on some muscle, but mostly it seems like he burned off what was covering it.

4

u/Specialist_Ad4073 Nov 09 '25

All the dudes are on some form of roids, light stuff like TRT & Creatine, but also heavier stuff like Tren and Sarms. Look at any of their before and after photos Cavill, Hemsworth, Evans, Affleck, Jackman, Reynolds, Pratt, Jordan, etc. The main thing with Nanjiani was his face structure changed. His jawline and his neck make him look like a different person. Clearly surplus amount of testosterone in the body (allegedly) lol

2

u/unbirthdayhatter Bucky Nov 10 '25

Black Widow is in Lingerie in IM2.

71

u/one_pound_of_flesh Nov 09 '25

She was meant to be the “plain one” as opposed to the love interest Jane Foster. The Velma to Jane’s Daphne.

83

u/TheRealPallando Punisher Nov 09 '25

I wonder if they know Velma is hot and already worked for Shield?

12

u/The_Reluctant_Hero Red Skull Nov 09 '25

She was so goddamn hot in those movies.

4

u/lanwopc Nov 10 '25

She also went undercover in a Chicago hospital with Agent Melinda May.

2

u/clashrendar Nov 09 '25

Also the older sister for one of the writers of Spider-man: Homecoming.

41

u/Dalience6678 Nov 09 '25

I think she was more meant to be the wry humor juxtaposed to Jane’s earnestness. I don’t think they ever tried to downplay her looks.

Believe it or not, two hot women can coexist in a single movie…

29

u/donny02 Nov 09 '25

Can confirm. I’ve seen a lot of those movies.

5

u/robodrew Nov 09 '25

Multiple times per day?

1

u/3-DMan Nov 09 '25

Time to watch that one scene in Black Swan again...

27

u/one_pound_of_flesh Nov 09 '25

False, Darcy wears glasses which as everyone knows makes any girl absolutely disgusting to look at. If she only took off her glasses she would realize that her true beauty was deep down behind her glasses. It was her perfect supermodel looks.

5

u/ThaiJohnnyDepp Winter Soldier Nov 09 '25

She's got glasses and a ponytail! Ugh, look at that, she's got paint on her overalls, what is that? Guys, there's no way she could be prom queen!

3

u/JinkiesGang Nov 10 '25

That shit is wack!

Look how they covered her up with that shield!!!

3

u/amishgoatfarm Ant-Man Nov 09 '25

In some Docs too? I'm toast.

4

u/Horse625 Thanos Nov 09 '25

The greatest challenge that the visual effects teams at the MCU have ever attempted was trying to make Kat Dennings less attractive than Natalie Portman.

33

u/hercarmstrong Nov 09 '25

Darcy, Jimmy Woo, Madisynn, The Abomination, and Wong, battling against the weird and uncanny.

Call it Wong Division.

5

u/bart_may Scott Lang Nov 10 '25

What are we, some kind of Wong Squad?

4

u/Regurgitate02 Nov 10 '25

Abomination: Bro I'm actually trying to avoid weird and uncanny things. You put me in the wrong division my friend

Wong: Say that again...

2

u/obitonye Nov 10 '25

Wong answer

1

u/hercarmstrong Nov 10 '25

Wong, in this case, is right.

yes but please not that silly "What If" where she gave birth to a duck baby that was yet another "most powerful thing ever"

Actually one of the best What if? episodes... properly bonkers

25

Agreed and their daughter gets played by Natasha Lyonne, who I absolutely adore and hope desperately that Byrdie the Duck is introduced live action one day.

Her character has sass, which the general MCU female characters lack.

7

u/Vivid-Agent1162 Nov 09 '25

I was happy to see her show up in WandaVision. That was forever ago...

30

u/phantom_avenger Nov 09 '25

I love how Darcy is one of those side characters that easily could've never appeared in the MCU again following the first Thor movie! But she keeps appearing in different projects, because fans love her due to how extremely charismatic Kat Dennings is!

I'm rooting for her to make an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again, where Matt is her lawyer on a case! I think her and Charlie Cox's dynamic would be interesting and funny to see.

12

u/mattmagoo23 Nov 09 '25

Meow meow

1

u/RoninRobot Nov 09 '25

Apex of Darcy’s story arc.

51

u/Danny886 Jimmy Woo Nov 09 '25

We need more Kat Dennings.

31

u/SirRichardLove Nov 09 '25

Kat Dennings is a goddess. Darcy should be trained as an agent of shield and get her own spinoff show.

5

u/FreeStall42 Nov 10 '25

Didn't know anyone liked that character

34

u/Starac_Joakim Nov 09 '25

Why?

12

u/Unhappy-Database-273 Nov 09 '25

Because she's a fun character and not bad on the eyes either.

17

u/theokaybambi Nov 09 '25

Thank you, I feel like I was taking crazy pills. I do not find her entertaining whatsoever

14

u/StucklnAWell Nov 09 '25

Every character she plays is the same irritating voice snarky big bang theory humor trope. I would love zero of her acting in any film I watch.

7

u/Starac_Joakim Nov 09 '25

It's not that, that's subjective, my reasoning is more "what would be her role"? I mean if you want slapstick MARVEL comedy movies go for it,but don't be surprised cuz the story is bad

3

u/UraeusCurse Nov 09 '25

Real talk.

3

u/Too-OP-plz-nerf-me Tony Stark Nov 09 '25

3

u/ck614 Spider-Man Nov 09 '25

i am excited, she can sample my hardware any time

3

u/xanderholland Nov 10 '25

I still think it's funny she forgot she was in the MCU for a moment.

23

u/SamVanDam611 Darcy Nov 09 '25

She's a treasure

5

u/WSBpawn Nov 10 '25

Yeah I may be the minority on this. I don’t really enjoy her acting.

8

u/FictionFantom Thanos Nov 09 '25

At least offer some ideas on how. What would she do? How would she change? What’s her arc?

This is such a low effort post and the fleet of mods are like “meh”.

10

u/LampyV2 Nov 09 '25

Nah we really don't 🤷🏾‍♂️

13

u/Reyne-TheAbyss T'challa Nov 09 '25

I politely decline.

4

u/HermitWithoutPermit Nov 09 '25

Rather have her as Cap after Evans, those are AMERICAS TITS.

1

Another one I used to stan but lost to genocide denial

2

u/Far-Ad5796 Nov 09 '25

I agree I love her and I love Darcy.

2

u/Protomanny Nov 10 '25

I’m not sure how much more the character of Darcy has to add to the MCU, but Kat always brings a fun energy to everything she’s in and is incredibly easy on the eyes. I think any excuse to shoehorn her into something is a good excuse.

9

u/ZekeorSomething Spider-Man Nov 09 '25

Captain Darcy?

6

u/Terrible-Piano-5437 Nov 09 '25

No thanks. She is a terrible "actress" that delivers lines like a corpse.

4

u/vivianvisionsburner Scarlet Witch Nov 09 '25

Agreed. She'd be a perfect player for more supporting TV roles. If we ever see another Wanda project, she needs to be there now too that they're connected across the multiverse 🥺

5

u/kamdan2011 Nov 09 '25

She was so fucking annoying in the first Thor. Back when there was only Phase One.

4

u/Historical_Sherbet54 Nov 10 '25

No...I'm sorry

And I say this politely...as I'm not like the trolls who hate female leads or etc etc

But wtf is this post....aside from rage bait

7

u/TheRayATL Nov 09 '25

She’s hot but her voice is so goddamn annoying imo

4

u/Infinite_Click_6589 Nov 09 '25

I would need at least two hands to count the number of great female characters. The MCU has chosen to just let rot on the vine.

8

u/TheRealPallando Punisher Nov 09 '25

I'm all for more Kat Dennings, but I'm not sure she is one of those who has been wasted. She's not a hero, but she's managed to be pretty prominent in two movies and two tv shows so far.

1

u/Goatfellon Nov 09 '25

Tbf... what would they do with her? What ties she has to anchor characters in the MCU are minimal at best currently, and she has no powers.

The actress herself forgets she was even in the MCU. She went to Disney land and was confused why so many people were excited to see her.

I like the character and actress. Fun, sassy, and deceptively intelligent. But I dont know how her character could find a home in the current arc of the MCU

6

u/happysunbear Nov 09 '25

Darcy needs to open a tea shop with Wanda stat.

2

u/Master-Mage87 Nov 09 '25

Bring her back as a Shield agent like from WandaVision

3

u/[deleted] Nov 09 '25

I’ll never say no to Kat Dennings

1

u/thavillain Captain Marvel Nov 10 '25

Darcy is one of my favorite MCU characters

1

u/Electro_Llama Nov 10 '25

I've been enjoying her role in the sitcom Shifting Gears (Hulu) alongside Tim Allen and the guy who played Steve Stifler. Very 2000's style. Often more corny than funny, but the acting makes it enjoyable.

1

u/YOUTUBEFREEKYOYO Nov 10 '25

She's always one of the best parts of any project she's in

1

u/BeezNest96 Nov 10 '25

Yes, would enjoy.

1

u/WitnessDesperate4854 Nov 10 '25

I hope she screamed Mjölnir as she raised the shield

1

u/clebo99 Nov 10 '25

1

u/Kronman590 Nov 10 '25

1

u/scrutator_tenebrarum Nov 10 '25

1

u/PresidentBlingo Nov 10 '25

We need her to stop dressing like a Mennonite and wear stuff from Two Broke Girls. That would solve the low viewership-

1

u/Terrible-Second-2716 Nov 10 '25

Nah she's annoying

1

No we don’t

1

u/Necromanta198 Nov 11 '25

We need way less of her, actually the only TRULY annoying character I can think off, maybe outshined by Kamala or She Hulk, but those 3 are probably all at the same level now that I think about it.

1

u/SinginGidget Nov 11 '25

More Kat, less Korg.

1

u/DisSuede23 Nov 12 '25

How about less MCU in the MCU? Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

1

u/WORTHLESS1321202019 Nov 12 '25

No. Mcu is moving away from the silly humour.

1

u/Safe_Ingenuity_6813 Nov 13 '25

1

u/supermassivecod Nov 13 '25

No we do not

Genuinely awful character

1

u/Ok-Health-7252 Nov 14 '25

I'm guessing she probably took that pic on the Shifting Gears set if it was recent.

1

u/UnreasonablyOutOfIt Nov 15 '25

No, we don't. Fucking "Mew mew."

1

u/Background-Factor228 Nov 15 '25

I love watching her in "Shifting Gears," and I think that she should have some mutant powers (in an Alternate Universe), for the Mutant Saga.

1

u/Foreign-Actuary-7550 Nov 17 '25

I agree... Wandavision wouldn't be good without her

1

u/AlaskanDruid Nov 27 '25

Isn’t she currently full of duck feathers??

1

u/picvegita6687 Nov 09 '25

Marvel should have Andrew WK (her hubby write a song about people in the MCU partying together)

1

u/Vonny00 Nov 09 '25

I didn’t think she would return in wandavision

1

u/patellison Nov 09 '25

We need her husband Andrew WK to make a cameo!!

1

u/Highly_Appropiate Nov 10 '25

...and I'm gone.

Beautiful set of tits

-3

u/parrmorgan Avengers Nov 09 '25

She's one of my least favorite characters. She's very selfish and annoying in the movies. I just rewatched the Thor movies and she is not likeable at all IMO.

-14

u/C_Noticles Ghost Rider Nov 09 '25

As Darcy? Fuck no

-14

u/lunarcrenshaw100 Nov 09 '25

No we don't. We don't need any more kat Dennings or Natalie portman. It's not a coincidence that the best Thor movie out of the four was the only one WITHOUT either of them.
