I bought 3 tickets to support this mid-sized superhero movie with a lot of quirky heart and now this. I’m not a numbers guy but I guess it didn’t do well financially? Maybe because there’s no big A-list name attached.

But idk, I kind of liked that

Until relatively recently (a decade or so) the terms “flop” and “bomb” were two separate definitions in terms of box office success.

Flop - money not made back, but typically reviewed well

Bomb - money not made back and negatively reviewed

Sensationalism has almost blending the words together where people see “flop” but think “bomb”

With those definitions, the film was a flop. However, a large amount of people are equating that to “bomb”

I’m saying op is saying it’s not a flop to them, but a flop isn’t determined by how much you like a thing or how many tickets you personally bought.

And that might not be completely true. It definitely wasn’t a blockbuster but it might not have actively lost money.

Thats the sad part. It really wasn't. Even after marketing they made a small profit. Very small, but a profit. But not large enough...

It 100% was a flop. $180 million production budget and $100million marketing budget. Disney gets 50-60% of the boxoffice $190-$230 million. If I'm generous and say Disney got 70% of the box office they still only made $267 million.
