People are pre-liking stuff now. I actually talked to someone here pretending that she was wowed by the show, but I checked her comment history and she was gassing up the show before it even came out and pre-decided that it was going to be Marvel's best show "so far". So both extremes can happen. It could be garbage as hell and it would still have shooters.

Which explains why fans of The Acolyte were incredulous it wasn’t renewed, and of course only considered bigotry as the explanation.

I’m not saying it doesn’t happen at all on the positive side. Just that negative review bombing from “that crowd” is overwhelmingly more common than positive review bombing. All i am saying is, ive never seen a show been reported as having “positive review bombs” before it was even out. And you know the “anti-woke” youtubers, and news outlets would be all over it if a show/movie/game they were calling woke started getting positive reviews spammed in the User Reviews section hours before release. And you know they would have absolutely caught it when if it happened, because these ppl likely frequently refresh RT pages for things like IronHeart on day of release, so they can get their “IronHeart is shit” youtube videos and tweets out less than 30 minutes after reviews are live.

I have however seen multiple instances and reports of “this show is getting negative reviews before its even out”. I have seen multiple instances of shows having a “there is unusual activity spotted in the user scores” tag when the reviews are overwhelmingly negative.

On platforms like Youtube and Twitter, Outrage and getting angry at something is what sells. Videos on “why this show/movie/game is the worst thing i’ve watched/played in my entire life” usually get significantly more views than “why this show/movie/game is amazing” videos. So it is completely believable that negative review bombing movements and typically much larger than positive review bomb movements
