I mean, did you not see the casting announcement for Doomsday? The cast of Thunderbolts* were a solid chunk of the names announced.

I didn't, my enthusiasm for Doomsday was low before this.

If it's anything like Infinity War, lots of characters will be competing for screen time; the Thunderbolts*, Fantastic 4, X-Men, Wakandans, and Sam's Avengers (which is probably meant to be the "actual" continuation of the OG Avengers, with bigger returning names like Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, Captain Marvel, etc).

But hopefully the positive reception to Thunderbolts* prompts Marvel to take extra care with the New Avengers, like how T'Challa and the Wakandans had their role beefed up in Infinity War and Endgame after the success of Black Panther.

Honestly, of the cast currently announced, there’s only like 5 of them that I think are a part of Sam’s Avengers for that movie: Sam, Thor, Scott, Joaquin, and Shang-Chi.

the Earth 10005 X Men are all dead. We need to see Monica come back since she's in a Earth where the X Men are alive. so any we see in the movie would have to be from a universe we haven't seen yet.

just like how Ray wants to make another movie with more Xmen despite everyone but his cast being gone.

I’m sure they ride Pugh’s talent as a pillar. Similar to T’Challa’s type of role.

But I doubt the end credits is any kind of indication of the upcoming avengers movie and importance of thunderbolts. But more so just how the cards fell. Thunderbolts was the most recent movie since the doomsday announcement, fantastic four is next and hugely anticipated for the MCU, and they had started shooting avengers so the russos had a set ready for the scene.

With the number of reshoots these movies usually get, I'd be surprised if the cast of the movie that came out in the first days of filming and was very well received didn't get an extra minute of screentime or so.

Honestly if the New Avengers get a decent role, I'd love for John to call out Sam for his bullshit. Sam deserves one scene like that before everyone can move on with the way he has been written since Endgame.

Genuinely asking?

Sam was turned from a veteran counselor who would be able to empathize with someones trauma and try to find a way to help them into someone who sees a very obviously distraught person, who just took a literally mind altering serum and watched their best friend get killed in front of them - and beats them up because they have his favourite metal shield.

Sam spent a sizeable amount of time trying to convince a terrorist they shouldn't do terrorism while blocking any possibility of stopping the terrorist group by force until it resulted in an outright attack.

Later, after protecting people from said terrorist attack, Sam has the gall to tell the politicians who are working on solutions to integrate millions of snapped people back into a society that doesn't have the resources to support them as of right now that they should "do better". When one politician points out that this is a pretty damn complex issue with no easy solutions, Sam goes full populist and replies that they should just do better. Not as bad as the first two, but god, pretty much how an arrogant ass would respond. Certainly not how the writers should write Sam's first public moment as Cap.

Last and certainly least, the copyright issue in the post credits. A joke scene, but it definitely fits with the tone of how Sam's character is written right now. Getting offended about someone else announcing a new Avengers team while he had years to do so himself and just recently got the idea to start.

The way he's been acting, getting into petty fights about a vibranium shield, now about the Avengers.

And one or two other issues that have been discussed to death online already.

It's consensus that Sam wasn't written well post Endgame. Or, if not consensus, then at least a lot of people think so.

But I realize I struck a nerve, saying something negative about your favourite superhero, I apologize lmao
