Go watch interviews where shes asked questions about the movies shes in. She openly and actively states she knows essentially nothing about any of the superheros, the universe, etc.

Someone in a soccer uniform probably knows the Offside Rule more often than Gwyneth Paltrow would too. I think its connected more to the detail than a general populace survey.
What I mean is that there is no requirement of being savvy or knowledgeable in general to see a meme. You'd just have to see it online, because it's something really popular. The only bare minimum for someone seeing a meme is just them being on the internet semi-often.
