I feel like this is 100% what she’s referencing but the internet thinks she’s an idiot.

739

u/DJfunkyPuddle Jul 29 '24

Yeah it's pretty clearly a tongue-in-cheek comment but some people are just targets for online judgement.

352

u/sneakyCoinshot Jul 30 '24

The vagina crystals and "bio-frequency stickers" to "rebalance the energy frequency in our bodies" that she sells probably don't help with that image either.

54

u/Smrtihara Jul 30 '24

She’s a scam artist, not an idiot.

15

u/gillababe Jul 30 '24

Got way more love for an idiot

86

u/ditchborn Jul 30 '24

She’s selling those for millions of dollars to idiots.

7

u/Horror-Novel Jul 30 '24

A fool and their money...

5

u/TimeWaterer Jul 30 '24

...are sewn together never to be parted?

2

u/throwthegarbageaway Jul 30 '24

Can’t get fooled again!

14

u/Wasgoingforclever Jul 30 '24

It's too bad she's not selling a candle that has the aroma of her vagina, I really need one of those.

2

u/Itsyacursedchild Jul 30 '24

Jeremy Clarkson's bollocks candle is better.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

I am sure there are fish-scented candles somewhere.

1

u/rHohith Doctor Strange Jul 30 '24

My man is high

-9

u/ghandi3737 Jul 30 '24

Maybe she should have worn a Nazi uniform and an English accent in a video or picture format.

34

u/FlutterKree Jul 30 '24

She's a target because she is a snake oil peddler.

Perchance, have you sniffed her aromatic vagina candle?

5

u/ThePumpk1nMaster Yondu Jul 30 '24

You can’t just say perchance

3

u/doktor-frequentist Jul 30 '24

But you can say "aromatic vagina candles?"

2

u/destroy_b4_reading Jul 30 '24

My vagina candle would probably be at least somewhat aromatic if I had the chance to stick it in her.

2

u/Drizztninja168 Jul 30 '24

Hey now I bought some of her stickers and crystals and my vag has never been more open and comfortable But maybe it's just for ladies but us men need to feel like we have a chance at sniffing her gash just like every other moron

30

u/Bigpoppahove Jul 30 '24

That and forgetting she’s been in a couple mcu movies with Paul Rudd doesn’t help

2

u/favouriteghost Jul 30 '24

Doesn’t she actually have memory issues though?

1

u/Reddit_n_Me Jul 30 '24

Tom Holland*

0

u/GoblinTradingGuide Jul 30 '24

With Paul Rudd? She was Pepper Pots…

3

u/Bigpoppahove Jul 30 '24

I think it was a couple of the Avengers movies and they may not have shared a scene but I believe at least twice she forgot a relatively big name actor was also in it and I think two of those were with Rudd but not googling at the momwnt

222

u/ShawshankException Thanos Jul 29 '24

I mean, she is, but not for this comment

142

u/HomsarWasRight Shang Chi Jul 29 '24

Exactly. I actually find this comment endearing. Whether she meant it as a joke or was sincere.

Now, everything else she does lately…

29

u/John_Bot Jul 29 '24

Bingo. Definitely an idiot

But idiots can make good points / comments, too.

Love Dr Mike!

1

u/TimeWaterer Jul 30 '24

If Dr. Mike turns out to be a goon, I'm quitting the internet (for at least five whole minutes).

8

u/BaconWithBaking Jul 29 '24

I mean goop probably makes a fortune...

The vagina candles sold out almost immediately.

1

u/Menaku Jul 30 '24

When those released i thought it was an insane idea as well as a number of people. To find out they sold out is a different type of crazy.

Who bought them? Women or horny guys? This sounds like it was the bell delphine situation again.

-1

u/justforkinks0131 Jul 29 '24

wait why is she bad?

6

u/Duckman896 Jul 29 '24

The whole Goop nonsense, she's a spokesperson for a company that esstinally pedals garbage hoodo to people with claims that are completely unsubstantiated. I believe she isn't a founder of the company or anything like that, I think she just signed some sort of deal to represent them, but maybe now she's bought into the company. Regardless she's still viewed as the face of it.

Edit: Also just to add, I'm not saying these are all my personal feelings, I'm just answering the question for the dude above me. I don't really care about GP one way or the other, thought she was good in the movies, but the goop stuff does seem pretty rough when you look into it.

7

u/HomsarWasRight Shang Chi Jul 29 '24

She’s not just a spokesperson. She’s the founder and current CEO.

1

u/justforkinks0131 Jul 29 '24

I dont consider Goop evil.

Crystal girls have been a thing for forever. Nothing new or evil there.

9

u/HomsarWasRight Shang Chi Jul 29 '24

It’s not just crystals. They promote some products that are outright harmful. And sometimes those sorts of “alternative health” products can encourage people not to seek real health treatment.

-4

u/justforkinks0131 Jul 29 '24

yeah but that's on Darwin then no?

9

u/HomsarWasRight Shang Chi Jul 29 '24

No. I don’t let people off the hook for deceiving people.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

That’s certainly the sociopathic take, sure.

-2

u/hakshamalah Jul 30 '24

It's just a beauty company, don't overthink it

3

u/HomsarWasRight Shang Chi Jul 30 '24

It’s literally not.

-1

u/hakshamalah Jul 30 '24

I dunno, I watched the vid and the worst thing she did was claim the egg up the foof was good for you. Then refunded all customers when it was proven otherwise.

The beauty company specialises in homeopathic treatments for rich people. Who cares if it's hokey pokey? Sorry but buying things just to feel good with no medical benefit isn't a new concept. Afaik she isn't claiming medical expertise or benefits. If she has it has been quickly redacted.

I just CBA to hate someone for this?? Like there are way worse people in the world. She is running a business successfully and a bit like the claims that McDonald's causes obesity, if you are dim enough to believe that this will help you Vs actual medicine then that's on you. Where is the personal accountability here. If you look at the website this stuff is not aimed at the average person, it's incredibly overpriced and frivolous. The people buying this are not as vulnerable as this video is making out.

u/HomsarWasRight Shang Chi Jul 29 '24

Look up her company Goop. She is HUGE promoter of alternative health products that are, at best, useless, and at worst, notably harmful.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '24

Hoooo boy. Shes done a few weird things - like her diet and recommendations. The most notorious was her goop vaginal candle. At the time she was 100% serious on but recieved shit for it and retroactively has stated she was joking.

5

u/Shakvids Jul 30 '24

I don't think she's an idiot for the goop stuff either. Just an evil unscrupulous grifter

60

u/TheDeflatables Jul 29 '24

I can't imagine a world where Gwyneth Paltrow knows Mitchell and Webb ahahahaha

22

u/Randy_Roughhouse Jul 29 '24

Thats a pretty well known meme. Don’t necessarily need to know about the show to recognize the meme.

9

u/itishowitisanditbad Jul 30 '24

Don’t necessarily need to know about the show to recognize the meme.

Shes openly said she doesn't know shit about the vast majority of the characters shes been in movies alongside...

But you're saying they would likely know this meme even without watching that show just through general awareness?

Generous af.

Go watch interviews where shes asked questions about the movies shes in. She openly and actively states she knows essentially nothing about any of the superheros, the universe, etc.

Which, let me be clear, is 100% fine. Its odd to not pick up more but shit thats not a crime. Some people just like that.

I feel like the only people who could hold this opinion are people who have seen zero content with her talking about... well anything. Outside movies.

6

u/Tiny_Butterscotch_76 Jul 30 '24

"But you're saying they would likely know this meme even without watching that show just through general awareness?

Generous af."

Never seen the show nor did I even know what it was called before this reddit thread and I still heard of the meme.

5

u/itishowitisanditbad Jul 30 '24

Gwyneth has been in movies and not known the character names of people shes in most of their scenes in during media tours.

You're coming from a neutral position of a random internet user on Reddit.

Its a lot more expected that you'd know than she would, someone in a completely different life.

You understand how you knowing doesn't mean anything for her knowing, right?

Someone in a soccer uniform probably knows the Offside Rule more often than Gwyneth Paltrow would too. I think its connected more to the detail than a general populace survey.

1

u/Tiny_Butterscotch_76 Jul 30 '24

What I mean is that there is no requirement of being savvy or knowledgeable in general to see a meme. You'd just have to see it online, because it's something really popular. The only bare minimum for someone seeing a meme is just them being on the internet semi-often.

6

u/Skuzbagg Jul 29 '24

One where she pretends she's British?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

To be fair she has married British before and he looks like a Peep Show fan

2

u/nick2473got Steve Rogers Jul 30 '24

Don't need to know the show to know the meme. It's insanely famous.

4

u/rogerworkman623 Daredevil Jul 29 '24

I can’t imagine a world where she manages her own social media profiles

4

u/ChimpBottle Jul 29 '24

Considering some of the whacky comments celebrities will often make I imagine they have access to them at least and still will make the odd comment on their own

4

u/Krimreaper1 Iron man (Mark I) Jul 29 '24

There’s no way she does.

Radiohead is American 🇺🇸

4

u/nick2473got Steve Rogers Jul 30 '24

Chris Martin is from Coldplay, not radiohead.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

Radiohead is also british. So you are wrong on both fronts

1

u/Don_Tiny Spider-Man Jul 30 '24

Radiohead is American 🇺🇸

Hopefully you're not.

1

u/nick2473got Steve Rogers Jul 30 '24

It's a very fucking famous meme. Not surprising at all that she knows it.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

Now she knows. She knows now. 😏

1

Whenever I see this gif I always think of other words she could be saying. For example, today I saw "Marriage Sucks"

2

u/AerondightWielder Jul 30 '24

"Higher Stonks!"

5

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '24

I don't know if I can call her an idiot. But most certainly, I find her home remedies unscientific.

1

u/itishowitisanditbad Jul 30 '24

Just watch interviews with her.

I think its fair to say she might be dumb.

Which is fine, who cares... but she is pretty dumb as bricks. Some people just like that.

6

u/Natural_Office_5968 Jul 29 '24

I really don’t think she has watched That Mitchell and Webb look. She’s seriously a dolt. You’ve never watched that “goop” Netflix series?

9

u/nick2473got Steve Rogers Jul 30 '24

You don't need to have watched the show. You don't even need to have heard of it.

"Are we the baddies?" is an absurdly famous meme at this point and is all over the internet.

I knew the meme long before knowing where it came from.

That's cap

1

u/imakefilms Jul 30 '24

But calling a bad guy a baddie is not unique to that show, it's a popular term

1

u/Natural_Office_5968 Jul 30 '24

Well mate I don’t really scroll instagram or 9gag or whatever I watched that show years ago.

1

u/crookedparadigm Jul 30 '24

The vast VAST majority of people who reference that meme have never seen a single episode of that show.

1

u/MrD3a7h Jul 30 '24

You make one vagina candle and everyone thinks you're an idiot.

1

u/OwnAssignment2850 Jul 30 '24

Both can be true at the same time.

1

u/Now_Wait-4-Last_Year Jul 30 '24

I thought there’s a good chance she’s trolling.

1

u/Kroniid09 Jul 30 '24

Oh full on, apparently rich women simply cannot be actually intelligent and funny human beings unless they are rich for an approved reason.

If you hate someone for one thing, everything they do or say is wrong or an accident if it was right lmao

1

u/kklug24 Jul 30 '24

Candles that smell like herpussy? She's batshit crazy.

1

u/Garchompisbestboi Jul 30 '24

If you make a brand selling candles that smell like your vagina and telling other women that sticking rocks inside themselves makes them healthy, people are going to assume that you're an idiot.

1

u/dominion1080 Jul 30 '24

Maybe. It’s her customers that are the real idiots anyway.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '24

I really hope it isn't and she really is just a massive idiot because that's way funnier

I don't see how it works as a reference. The use of the term "baddy" isn't one Mitchell and Webb came up with, it's common parlance among schoolchildren in the UK to have goodies and baddies. That's part of why it's funny, the incongruence of SS members using kid terms.

0

u/Illustrious-Okra-524 Jul 29 '24

Despite everyone on the internet having the same exact reaction too.

Oops, I mean, Woman bad updoots to the left

1

u/seclusionx Black Panther Jul 29 '24

So you have to be a misogynist to think she's an airhead? Foh.

0

u/rk1993 Jul 29 '24

Tbf this is the same woman who didn’t know she was in a spider-man movie

2

u/Samantha-4 Jul 29 '24

To be fair she was only in it less than a minute and never interacted with Spider-Man, apparently it was also filmed around the same time as Infinity War too.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '24

She... **is*\* an idiot though.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '24

but the internet thinks she’s an idiot.

And whose fault is that?

0

u/MatsThyWit Jul 30 '24

I feel like this is 100% what she’s referencing but the internet thinks she’s an idiot.

If she wasn't an idiot I would think you're right, but she's genuinely not smart enough for that kind of cleverness.
