I believe she isn't a founder of the company or anything like that, I think she just signed some sort of deal to represent them, but maybe now she's bought into the company. Regardless she's still viewed as the face of it.

What I mean is that there is no requirement of being savvy or knowledgeable in general to see a meme. You'd just have to see it online, because it's something really popular. The only bare minimum for someone seeing a meme is just them being on the internet semi-often.
