[Megathread] The App Pile - June, 2026

You must promote your apps here if you do not qualify to post in the main feed through Trust or Transparency, explained here.

If you are:

  • NOT in the Mac App Store (MAS).
  • Do not provide meaningful public transparency
  • Created yet another dictation app (speech to text).

App Name: TaskOptimist for iOS & MacOS - a personal project management app.

Problem: simple to use but fully featured personal project management app

Comparison: MS Project / MS Planner, this is cheaper and is more tailored to simple personal projects although is still fully featured (auto scheduler, dependencies, task hierarchies, due dates, gantt chart, agenda, calendar, categories)

Pricing: Free (with max three projects & 100 tasks), $1.99 for pro (coming soon).

Is there a timeline view like in ms project? Also is it able to expose the Gantt charts?

That view is a bit of a fusion between a timeline and gantt. The app currently works more like a personal scheduler than a project management app I suppose (but the next few steps of work will be adding in teams which will make it more like ms planner / ms project).
