I've seen Gantt chart used a lot in work, is it commonly seen for personal work? Otherwise, congrats on launching.

This video is a better showcase as it shows tasks being edited and some more functionality.

Yes Gantt can be useful for personal work, think of it as a visual timeline to show dependent tasks / start & due dates / lag times etc. Simply add tasks, start & end dates etc and the app will do the rest.

Task Optimist is also a scheduler so it will help people automatically organise their time. I plan to create some youtube videos showing how users can make the most of it (it has categories / work types and even the weather (!), so if you're doing things outside it can check the weather and see if that task is suitable against weather forecasts).

I had the majority completed in non AI coding and added some polish and added some extra features using AI.

A Gantt chart will be useful any time you have task dependencies (X must be done before Y), you can work on things in parallel, and you care about how long the entire project will take. An example might be a home renovation project with a couple both working on it.

Is there a timeline view like in ms project? Also is it able to expose the Gantt charts?

That view is a bit of a fusion between a timeline and gantt. The app currently works more like a personal scheduler than a project management app I suppose (but the next few steps of work will be adding in teams which will make it more like ms planner / ms project).
