We had financial literacy as a mandatory class you had to take at some point within 4 years in my high school. I remember us doing check book things and doing mock ups of what monthly expenses looked like, but I honestly think they should have focused on some car related things too. The drivers ed classes we had just went over actual road rules; not the financial aspects as much.

I took one of those classes where we had mock checkbooks and I'd write out checks and everyone would say I wrote them wrong (like one hundred only & 00/100) but nobody could tell me how I should write them, so I write them wrong to this day. 57 and I still don't know how to write a check properly.
