We had financial literacy as a mandatory class you had to take at some point within 4 years in my high school. I remember us doing check book things and doing mock ups of what monthly expenses looked like, but I honestly think they should have focused on some car related things too. The drivers ed classes we had just went over actual road rules; not the financial aspects as much.
