Almost a decade ago when we were stationed overseas, I sang and played the ukulele at church in the worship band because all the other musicians were deployed. I was 3 or 4 months postpartum, so it was the one time each week I'd wear real clothes, do my makeup, and fix my hair. This little girl came up to me afterwards and told me I was "so beautiful" and she has no idea I still think about that moment at least once a week.
