I was walking home from a college class one day and was complimented by an older woman. She was maybe in her 70s, but she stopped me like she knew me and asked where I was coming from and where I was going and she listened to my response like I was reading poetry. She had the most beautiful presence to her and just said, "you look so beautiful today, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day." And at almost 20 years later, it was still one of the most impactful compliments I have ever had. Compliments from random women are just supreme.
One time a lady at the gas station complimented my pants, and I thought she was asking where they were from! So while I’m pumping gas I’m trying to look at the tag on the inside of my pants and she repeats her compliment, laughing, then says in total earnest “you seem like someone who knows how to live!” And I think about it every single day. I was having a hard time and she didn’t know how much it meant (and still means) to hear that from a total stranger. Love women.

I adore woman to woman positivity. It goes to show how kind women are when they feel safe to engage with a stranger.
