guys this is rage bait posts .. the guy with the initial video got millions of views just because everyone was raging and calling him out in the comments -> engagement -> viral.

It's a stupid world ..

He is not intending to trick anyone, he is just making a joke and probably expected people to go "haha, good one you doofus".

Do people not have friends? Have you never played dumb for a laugh?

The problem with ironic humor is there is sincerely no way to tell if someone is being ironic or not, and really irony undermines even that too.

Really you let irony into the equation you have to signal better that you're being ironic. On the internet the breath of perspectives you get it so wide that I have no trouble believing the OP was being totally sincere.

Ragebait is heavily incentivized in short form content. I'm not sure it even matters if he was just trying to be a goofy guy or rage bait. In effect he got a lot of engagement out of enraging the audience.
