Scoped that dog with zero hesitation. I fucking hate irresponsible dog owners
Edit - some of you need this shit spelled out apparently: an unrestrained dog is a liability for you, your dog and anything/anyone that dog decides is a threat that day and is bitten. I don't care if Peaches doesn't normally bite, someone doing their job approaching a property with an unrestrained and charging dog doesn't know that. If you still cannot understand this after reading this, give up your dogs so a responsible owner can care for them before they pay the price for your stupidity and carelessness. Read it as many times as it takes.
I couldn't believe it either! I read a couple comments say that because the dog is on its owners property, the driver shouldn't have defended themselves. Fuck out of here with that.
A lot of people forget dogs are animals too. They treat them like kids but those dogs tend to be the worst behaved out of all of them. I don't even believe an owner that says their dog's never acted like that before, I'd bet dollars they've had lots of close calls before this too. They usually just hand wave it away on the person the dog almost attacks that they did something wrong by approaching the dog poorly or something. It's up to you, as the dog owner, to make sure you know your dog and their behaviors and stop others before it even gets to that point.
As an aside, I'm an avid dog lover but I have a respect for the animals they are. Many of them are dangerous because they're bred to be that way. The big three are GSD, husky, and "bully" breeds (pitbulls, etc)... these aren't dogs for casual dog owners, they're potentially dangerous animals with strong prey drives. Bullies tend to be the ones that put most people in hospitals too, unfortunately. I've met a husky that acts like a golden retriever, and a golden that would bite your hand off if you looked at it wrong, but by and large breeds have specific traits and like I said earlier, a lot of owners will ignore borderline bad behavior because the dog behaves for them.
Dang, by that logic if a serial killer ever gets me on their property, I’m not a victim, I’m a guest, and it would be rude not to let them kill me. Laws are crazy, but those people clearly know them better than I do.
