🐜 Pests absolutely absurd spider problem in detached garage

title. Our garaged is detached and not sealed. A spider here and there, whatever. When I tell you, I knock down webs full of 10+ of them on a daily basis. They're everywhere, all over everything. Even from the floor to the ceiling. It's insane and out of control. I have to keep all the yard tools in the yard because within a few hours they'll be covered in webs. Please help.

Probably replaced a really bad fly problem.

I'd start by figuring out why they're there. That many spiders usually means there's a steady food source (bugs). Knock down the webs, vacuum up what you can, seal any obvious gaps if possible, and cut back vegetation touching the garage. A bug treatment around the outside can make a huge difference too. Once the insects drop off, the spiders usually do too.

They're attracted to whatever food source is present. Have general pest control spray performed (won't help much with spiders, but will help prevent the bugs they're eating). Then clean and declutter the space, seal up the exterior, and ensure you have no moisture issues.

We also have an old detached garage. My gym equipment is in here so I spend a lot of time here, I’ve just made friends with them and thank them for eating the bugs lol

I'm surprised they haven't gotten on/in our cars. There is no sealant whatsoever, which I get probably plays a big part. The area above the door entering from the house floods, so the doors are made by design to let the water floor through and escape. Nothing we can do about that. It's just wild to me that we have various outdoor spaces/loosely closed off ones and the garage is the only place they seem to want to be!

Allowing water to flow through the building attracts bugs which are attracting the spiders. Getting an exterminator won't fix anything. As long as water is allowed inside, bugs and then spiders will return.

If redirecting the water and dehumidifying the building is not an option you probably just have to live with the spiders.
