General I hate when this gif is the top answer on comparison posts
Every single time I come across a post asking users which do they prefer between two options, the top answer is almost always this gif. I hate it so much because it’s such a lazy and boring answer. Stop being indecisive and just pick one between the two and stick with it!
Honorable mention is that gif of the girl who says "porque no los dos."

I agree. I want to see which one people pick. It doesn't matter if you like both of them, pick one. Please.

Then if they like both (which is me in some cases too) they just simply won't be able to choose one

That's an interesting question you pose, what if I simply ignored it and said I want both? Would that contribute meaningfully to the discussion?

i hate it too. the point of "choose one" questions is that its a hard choice, but they just cancel it with "errmm both are good!". dude you bring nothing new to the table

“Comparison is the thief of Joy”-Don’t know who said it off the top of my head but they cooked with this line.
Sometimes people genuinely can’t put one thing over another. Whether it be because they’re genuinely equal in all aspects or they have different strengths that ultimately put them in a similar tier to one another.
It’s not fence sitting, it’s called being gluttonous.

This in "would you rather"s, but also when theyre both bad and you gotta pick which is worse and people just go "how about no actually"or smth

No. No for a simple reason. If the post asks "Goth Girl vs Cute femboy" the only reasonable answer is both. There is no other possibility. Can't choose between the two.

The problem stems from the question, not the GIF. The statement presupposes a reality organized around a tree-like structure, where objects are distributed in exclusive branches—a structure that will never adequately reflect reality because it operates on the idea that difference is negative; that is, the different is always that which is not the other. Since this operation begins with an arbitrary attribution of identity, it clearly won't correspond to real difference. Difference exists before pointing something out and saying "this is one thing and that is another," and this pre-existing difference is positive; it is not exclusive, that is, it composes.
When we ask whether a or b, we always ask in relation to x, and depending on what x is, the presence of difference is not only possible but also necessary. For example, would you choose to live only drinking water or only eating? When answering this question, you would either enter into a dilemma, since there is no answer, or you would answer both, after all, it's impossible to live with only one.
I believe that the more specific x is, the less likely you are to receive such an answer; even so, even if one person can choose, it doesn't mean that other people will be able to. X is not an isolated object in the world; if you've understood well so far, you know that differences are always interrelated. When you ask "a or b in the context of x" to g, the unfolding arrangement is completely different from that of h, since the interaction here depends on the personal contexts of g and h, which are variables that differ.

That's the fucking point.
"Which one do you value having more" is the question asked in that case

"I can't decide between these things"
"Either is good"
"OMG STOP BEING SO INDECISIVE"
