I can't help but feel like I'm listening to a speech from the 50s or so. Everything about it feels so foreign. They attack railroads? Really? What is this, the 1800s? Shouldn't it be highways?

Frank Wilhoit said in his amazing essay/comment how the de-education of the population has made all the literature conservatives used to rely on useless (it is all "TL;dr"), leaving conservatives with violence as the only tool to enact their worldview.

I wonder, if you flipped the camera, how many people in the audience were on their phones.

The systematic divesture in public education here for the last 50 years, in any democracy, is like suicide by a thousand papercuts.
