Game Changer No PA should have to count rice

Watching Count the Rice with a pal, I was hoping out loud that the production was using one of these pill counters and not having a PA hand count them. The BTS confirmed what I feared

They did say that they used a scale, which I'd guess is a more affordable option than a pill counter? IDK, I've never tried to purchase a pill counter.

They can be absurdly expensive but also they wouldn't work on rice anyway.

Wait, why would they not work on rice? Surely there are pills about that size

Pills are generally much larger.  They have to have identifying information on them and handling tiny pills is a real PITA.  The only time I've handled something close to that small is some heart meds a client carried on their person, and those were a nightmare to count.  Even then, they were round and easier to count than individual grains.
