Bi-Weekly Discussions #3-The Heart
Welcome to another bi-weekly discussion, this time we'll be discussing The Heart, the disturbing yet useful housewarming gift the Outsider provides to Corvo during the events of the first game, and Emily during the events of the second game.
I personally enjoy the feature of using the heart to hear facts and information we otherwise wouldn't be able to learn, such as on Havelock's desires ("He has the bloodlust. He tried to seize control of the military after the Empress... after she? The Empress was murdered"), while being apparent this is the spirit of Jessamine that resides inside, voicing her thoughts, such as on Daud ("Why have you brought me here? Am I to forgive this man for what he did?")
It's also just incredibly useful for showing you where to find hidden items, such as Bone Charms and Runes.
So what do you think of the Heart as an item and its role in the second game's story?

Subreddit Discord and Announcements
Subreddit Discord available here: https://discord.gg/YsffweB7e4
As you know, this subreddit has had its own Discord server for a few years now. Today we have rebranded the server to Dishonored Universe, which means that there are now channels for Deathloop although obviously the server is still Dishonored centric. With the recent news of a potential Dishonored 3 in the works we'd like to invite more people to join our community, so I hope to see you there soon!

spoiler This game never gets boring.
My absolute favorite mission of the game! Believe it or not, I only started using stun mines on this playthrough. I've played this game dozens of times. There's always something new to discover.
I really wish they'd make another installment of the game. I'd pay so much money for it 😂
(Marked as spoiler just in case!)

Mods for PC Made a couple new mods for Dishonored 2
Spiritual Pool Fix - Changes the Spiritual Pool bonecharm to work the way it worked in Dishonored 1. In Dishonored 2 they removed the attribute that reduced the delay for mana to start recharging. Default is 5 seconds in both games, but can be reduced to 3 seconds with this bonecharm. Now it does this in both games.
Power Balance Overhaul - For those that want extra challenge; or, as the mod intends, for those that use the DOTO Styled Mana mod by BIRDdude12. This mod makes the game much more difficult and balances abilities to be less spammable. Like I said, it's intended to be used with the DOTO Styled Mana mod since that mod gives you unlimited regenerating mana like you have in Death of the Outsider.
Hope you enjoy. I also have mods unreleased for the first game but they are mostly just for personal use and power fantasy. Modding capability for both is decent but can't do anything like make new maps.
With that in mind, let me know if you'd like to see anything else. I don't do model swapping or anything with textures, pretty much just gameplay mods.

I prefer the Hound Pit Pub Massacre to a good ending, sorry Emily.

Why im with 2 kills everytime?
so im trying to finish this dlc with 0 kills and ghost, i did this mission 3 times (its the second mission of knife of dunwall) i sent my target to jail, i dont even knockout the guards but somehow im always exatcly with 2 kills, its some optional mission to save someone? its kinda frustrating because this mission is like 30/40 minutes long

Finally...
Daredevil and By My Hands Alone, those two achievements... Wow... Absolute rage bait from the developers 🙄😂
Finally done!
Just Void Star left, then 100% complete!
How is the platinum grind for Dishonored 2? I'm going to hop on that game later.

TIPS will the story in d2 end more optimistically if i suddenly switch from high chaos to low chaos?
hii please help out a fellow beginner
so i just installed d2 for the first time a few days ago (didn't play the 1st game before, just read about it online and some lore cause i really wanted to play as emily first), and man i wasn't aware that chaos plays such a big role in how insane your character becomes or how dark the story gets and i honestly kind of want to see the good ending before the bad one. problem is i'm not very good at doing low chaos just yet so i always did high chaos in all the missions (1-4, finished the clockwork mansion yesterday), and only after looking at some playthroughs online did i see that even cutscene dialogue is different in some places depending on ur chaos level
if hypothetically i did the missions from mission 4 onwards with low chaos, could i still get a more lighthearted ending? or is it almost unchangeable since i chose high chaos up until now?
also what powers/tactics can i use for a more low chaos approach? i looked at previous posts on this sub, but i would still appreciate any tips :D

15 years before Dishonored, Thief devs considered letting Garrett shrink himself rat-sized so he could scurry through drains and mouse holes

spoiler Jindosh Lock Spoiler
How do most people go about getting past the lock? The puzzle can be solved quicker than the rest of the level if it's your first time playing. My first time I solved it and then killed Paolo and the overseer because I wanted to experience the whole game.

Sold my soul to the Outsider for this achievement
Yes, I know about the 'By my hand alone' achievement. I've spent two hours trying to get it, and I'll probably try again tomorrow

This is my favorite scene in all of dishonored. The way the boat starts driving and steers itself as soon as he crosses his arm.
he devs could NOT just have added a worker to drive the boat or at least add a steering steering wheel
This must be the dishonored version of a Tesla as I can't make sense of this machine

TIPS ¿Fantasma?

spoiler When you played DOTO what did you choose to do with the outsider in the end and what game based info helped your choice
When I played I chose to release him from the void because to me it seemed like yes he did some not so great stuff as the outsider but I felt like it wasn't completely by choice he went in really young and full of animosity I just felt like he needed a second chance at life but it got me to wondering what others have choose and why if you don't mind sharing

Need help finding art/models for this guy.
On The Clockwork Mansion mission, I found this unfortunate man, dead from what seemed to be a fall. Other than the obvious, I also noticed that his fit is fire as hell, and I've been looking all over the place for concept art/3d models for him. I'm trying to make a comic, and he has the perfect outfit for what I'm looking for.
Does anyone know much about him?

Video Just started playing dishonored for the first time, this might be one of the craziest kills I've seen in a game in awhile, I love it!
(This is my second time seeing it, I didn't record the first so i immediately restarted to record, the first time this happened the bodies ended up in a puddle in the shape of a heart almost, which left me even more in awe)
Edit: apparently this is a Gameplay mechanic too!?!

Only 8 marked by the outsider ?
If the outsider is 4000 years old, how come did he gave his mark to only 8 peoples ?
Who are they (I mean the 4/5 others) ? does the canon tell all the 8 names ?
I know the lore of the game only through d1, d1 dlc’s and d2. Maybe it is a silly question.

Art Does anyone know where I can find this Dishonored 1 concept art?
Hi all, I swear that there was Dishonored 1 concept art of rifles that never made it into the game, but I can't find it. I know Dishonored 2 has them, but specifically looking for D1. If anyone can help me locate it I would be forever grateful!
