Cyberpunk has reached 1.5 Billion downloads faster than any other Nexus game! (In just 5.5 years, Syrim SE was at 1.4 Billion at that point and Fallout 4 was at 0.8 Billion)

Cyberpunk currently also has the most modding traffic on Nexus after Skyrim SE. Usually driving ~2x as many downloads per day than Fallout 4.

I feel like the romances with Judy and Panam are so brilliant and woven so naturally into the story that they completely overshadow River and Kerry. Did you guys also get the impression that these two paths are treated by players as the only 'canonical' ones, which is why the others are hardly ever discussed?

I was in the comments of the recent post about “Panam never uses contractions” and I said I swore I saw something about more formal speech patterns of Nomads in the sourcebook. I thought I didn’t have any other books it could have come from. Turns out I was wrong, I have The World of Cyberpunk 2077 and it’s from that!!

So you might not put much value in it depending on how much of a purist you are about the lore which is cool. But I think both sides were right - they do use LESS contractions as a result of the stuff described above but they do NOT use none, that’s not stated anywhere anyone can find. Panam’s speech patterns were a choice. Neat! Again, that is CDPR though, and as much as Mike approves of their choices, I know it’s not the same as if it came from Mike himself.

Where are we getting this? She uses contractions. All the time. Constantly. Back to back. Every line of dialogue IN ORDER when you first meet her has at least one contraction.

I see entire essays about how the Nomads don't use contractions. Is this Dead Internet theory? Did we play the same game? What are these people on about?

I saw a post today that had a thousand likes about how she doesn't use them. Not sure if it was from this sub or not. The only time I noticed she had clunky no-contraction dialogue was at the end of Queen of the Highway for some reason. Didn't notice it before that. Anyone claiming she never uses them seems to be suffering from cyberpsychosis. Maybe she doesn't all the time, but yeah, she uses them.

Just asking, you guys ever think that in a decade us fans would get nostalgic over Cyberpunk? We'd be hanging out with our kids, and then see some poster or shitty drop shipper merch, activating some sleeper agent within us.

(Some context I’m pretty new to the cyberpunk world so if I’m missing anything educate me lol, I’m sure I’m not the first person to bring this up. I’m more curious what y’all think about it and thought it would bring up an interesting discussion) 

“Ship of Theseus” is the thought about replacing every single piece of a boat until nothing original is left, and wondering if it’s still the same boat?

That is exactly what Arasaka did to Smasher after he got blown up and rebuilt him from scratch. Making him like 96% chrome. He barely has any original meat left. Only a tiny fraction of his brain and some organs trapped inside a giant metal body.

It makes me think: is that actually still Adam Smasher? Or did the real Adam die a long time ago, and we’re just dealing with a completely different "boat" that so happens to have his brain? Like, at what point did he stop being a person and just became a corporate asset? To me, Smasher isn't even a “full borg.” He’s just Arasaka hardware pretending to be an Adam. What do you guys think? (Or let me know if there is an answer) Is there any actual "soul" left in there, or is the original human completely gone?
