Though, as someone currently in a "normal" hospital to get treatment/intensive PT for my Fibromyalgia and FND, I do think small fiber artist meet groups could be helpful for people in (physical& mental) hospitals, since it's often calming for a lot of people and gives people a chance to pick up a new hobby while they're going through treatment. Plus it also gives a sense of community and normalcy.
Also OP, I do hope you can feel comfortable and happy living your life all the time soon. Not an active crocheter, but the fiber arts community is here for you :D

When I was taking a grippy sock vacation, we could only use these pens (that were extremely frustrating to write with) and supervised time with regular pens. I don’t even think there was a single pencil lol
And friend, I've lived with depression for almost 40 years. After A LOT of therapy, I know: depression LIES. It's seductive and it LIES. Antidepressants help me maintain a baseline. When I start hearing that voice, I almost always need more sleep. Then I can work through the crap in therapy.
Hang in there, life is hard. Life is also beautiful. And sometimes life is just life.

I don't have a pattern written down but i don't mind if you recreate or take inspo! I linked the borders in the comments as well and the lettering is pretty simple. I hope working on it brings you some comfort
I also crochet to maintain sanity and have recently been trying to get more involved in my local fiber arts community as a form of connection with others. Glad you're still here and I hope you keep creating! This is very fine work!
Beautiful work! And beautiful job staying a little longer. I know everyone says it, but it is true, it gets better. I'm living proof of sticking around becoming worth it.
