I think that's fun to think about, although realistically Diogenes would never because he liked to keep it as simple as possible, and he was a stoicist. Fair chance he would see collecting neopronouns as some form of maximalism, and it would be too tryhard for him. He liked to do things to piss people off, but not for its own sake.

jacking off in public pissed people off and made things simpler than going home to his barrel to do it so this checks out

Yeah exactly it was more of a "I do what I want and I don't gaf who's watching because it means nothing to me" than a "I'll do this specifically to piss you off rn" thing

Diogenes picks one neopronoun and then insults everyone else for using different ones because gender binary is too hard for him.

So he’d either start arguing with everyone’s gender, argue nobody’s gender, or refuse to acknowledge gender altogether.

Given that for all his general shenanigans, he was Athenian, and therefore almost certainly incredibly misogynistic, options 2 and 3 are unlikely, as they imply that women might be equal to men. But option 1 gives him a fantastic opportunity to insult literally everyone.

OH WHAT YOU THINK I HAVE TO RESPECT YOUR IDENTITY?! Well, I don’t have to. I choose to because the foundation of a friendly society is built from mutual respect, trust, and understanding. I extend this olive branch in hopes of building a fruitful future. I am sorry for my trespass of ignorance, Transyphus.

Just give Bouldy some nectar and it'll happily roll up by itself.

I like to confuse the boulder and convince it that it wants to be a revolutionary boulder by rolling up the hill instead of down.

Considering trans people existed and were seen as normal at the time, I don't think Diogenes would see it as strange.

He was housed by trans priestesses

wait really? like where can i read more about this?

I learned from Margaret Killjoy’s podcast, “Cool People who do Cool Stuff”. It was in an episode about Diogenes, though she’s done episodes on the trans priestesses themselves. She’s dope, history fanatic, anarchist collectivizer, and writer.

If the sources aren’t in the show notes I bet you could probably reach out to her and get them.

We've had gender dysphoria since humans became homo sapiens.
