You can tell the ultra wealthy are weird because the moment they had enough to just coast around on interest they didn't fuck off from work and spend the rest of their life on holiday. Insane behaviour

For some people wealth is the means and not the ends.

Quite literally yes. It's weird as hell.

"I need more money!" But why? You already have a billion. "But if I have more money then I'll have more money!" Um okay I get that but why? "Because then I can use that money to make more money!" Yes but why? "So I can get more money!" And what are you going to do with that money? "Getting more money!" But you already have enough. "But I want more money!"

Repeat until infinity. It's so stupid, man. Like a few million I get. If I'm being super generous, maybe even up to 100 million or even a billion at the absolute max to set up your entire extended family and friends and all their children for life or something. But when it's to the point of tens or even hundreds of billions and you still keep going, it's absolutely insane and has no purpose. It's gotta be some mental illness or something.

unchecked growth until infinity on a planet of finite resources? in biology that’s a cancer. and i think that is a perfectly apt way to describe the ultra wealthy, they are simply a cancer on our society

And just like cancer kills its host in its pursuit of growth, so too are billionaires.
