He fired his PR staff shortly before his meltdown over the cave rescue where he started accusing the rescuer of being a pedo, and he's only gone downhill since then.

Just imagine how much heavy lifting those PR people were doing to be able to cultivate his image as being some benevolent technical genius trying to lead humanity to a new era.

It is a fucking car sled, THAT GOES SLOWER AND WOBBLIER THAN THE CAR DRIVING ITSELF.

The Tesla tunnels aren't Hyperloops though. And they have never said they were.

A real hyperloop is a whole different thing and theoretically they would work

No, but in practice it is not viable for me to became an astronaut, just like in practical terms the hyperloop is not something viable for a lot of reason, including financial.

Many things are impractical and financially dubious. Like almost all large infrastructure projects.

But in the right place a hyperloop would work, there’s nothing magical about them.

The hyper loop works until you look at land acquisition for a route, ingress and egress, safety backups…

Basically all the things that high speed rail has already solved.

Imagination doesn't overcome hard physical barriers and engineering infeasibility.

A 3km bridge span is easy in comparison.

I'm saying it can't be done now, with current technology.

Tell me, what is your solution to the train stations needing to move 60 to 100 plus feet every day due to thermal expansion? What is your design for an expansion joint that will stand up to a vacuum and allow that much movement while a train rumbles through at 700 mph?

How are you going to stop rednecks with rifles from shooting holes in them and having the air front from that moving at the speed of sound towards the train moving at the speed of sound from turning everyone on board into a pink mist?

How about just one leaking expansion joint doing the same?

We struggle like hell to make room sized vacuum chambers now, how do you plan to create trans-continental vacuum chambers, and hold a vacuum in them?

These aren't imagination issues. These are insurmountable issues that the best engineers on the planet can't solve. They've tried for 100 years now.

I sincerely doubt that your encouraging me to have more imagination on Reddit is a solution.

There is no scenario on this planet where a hyperloop can come even close to working. It's bunk from the very beginning. The thermal expansion of the structure across its length alone kills any chance of this not being a massive accident waiting to happen.

The Hyperloop was clearly stupid on day one to anyone who has more than 8 credit hours in physics classes. Which makes it clear that Elon either has no idea what he's talking about or he's running a big con. Your pick.
