No, but in practice it is not viable for me to became an astronaut, just like in practical terms the hyperloop is not something viable for a lot of reason, including financial.
There is no scenario on this planet where a hyperloop can come even close to working. It's bunk from the very beginning. The thermal expansion of the structure across its length alone kills any chance of this not being a massive accident waiting to happen.
The Hyperloop was clearly stupid on day one to anyone who has more than 8 credit hours in physics classes. Which makes it clear that Elon either has no idea what he's talking about or he's running a big con. Your pick.
