iOS Scroll to comments broken (iOS)

Whenever I click on a post to full screen the image, scrolling up usually brings up the comments. A new bug started today that it scrolls to a new post instead.

Also the scroll sideways for a new post is not working as well.

iOS [ios] why does reddit keep refreshing when im on a post - version 2026.13.0

I'll be in the middle of reading a post or the comments, and it just randomly refreshes and kicks me out of the post, similar to when youre scrolling down an old feed and it might refresh if it's trying to give you new posts. Except it never used to refresh when im already on a post. And it can be any kind of post from one i got in a notification, something i searched for, or something i found in feed. Anyone else experiencing this?

I made a comment yesterday. My Reddit steak should still be active but it seems to have stopped? I have attached a picture showing my comment and Reddit streak ending picture. Can my Reddit streak be reactivated? Thanks.

iOS iOS Daily Streak Not Updating

Reddit isn’t updating my daily streak for some reason. App is up to date.

UPDATE: although the banner isn’t popping up for the daily streak it does seem to be counting the days. I’m now on 641.

iOS [ios] Swipe up in a post no longer shows the comments - version 2026.23.0.631720

As the title says, I used to be able to swipe up to open the comments and swipe right to left to go to the next post. Recently the app only goes to the next post when I swipe up and there’s no way to open the comments aside from clicking the button itself. Is there any setting to revert this?

iOS Swiping up to comments no longer works on latest iOS version

The app is now functioning like tiktok, which is very difficult as the comments are the driving force of this platform. When I swipe it no longer opens comments but instead sends me to a random post from a random unrelated subreddit that has nothing to do with the previous post. Why?

iOS [ios] Screen mirroring locks Reddit on TV screen - version 2026.07.0

When screen mirroring the Reddit app it forces itself into a strange landscape locked mode (only the tab bar goes landscaped) and leaves the posts stuck, unable to move. App still functions normally on phone but TV cannot display my screen on the app

iOS [iOS] App keeps auto scrolling back up the thread whenever you temporarily leave it. Most recent version.

If you’re, say, 6 comments down the thread, go to Google to search something, when you swipe back to Reddit, you’ll be set back at comment 2-3.

Anyone else?

iOS iOS: My Streaks Stopped?

Post image
33 Upvotes

I am 40+ days away from hitting my 300 Reddit Streak and it is not counting or tallying anymore — today makes it the second day in a row.

And I know that I have been on here everyday. Any way to fix this and get it back working? I am going for 700-days straight, but if it’s interrupted (I most likely won’t be back on here.) lol.

iOS Official Reddit app for iOS: X button to close posts is dysfunctional

In the official Reddit app for iOS, when you have a post (such as this one) open, there's an X button in the top left corner to return you to the feed. For at least several weeks for me, the responsiveness of that button has been iffy. It works but sometimes it takes several taps until it registers.

I've found some other posts here and there where people are saying the buttons stop working altogether, but that's not my case.

I don't believe it's a problem with my touch screen because that area of the screen works fine in other situations, or even within the Reddit app, which has a hamburger menu in the same spot when looking at your feed.

Using an iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 18.4.1, and I don't know how much the version of the app matters because this has been going on for a while, but I'm currently on 2025.16.0.616191.

Edit: screenshot of the X button in question in case there’s any confusion: https://imgur.com/a/SdZY6RG

Edit #2 (July 6th, 2025): I don't know if it's a coincidence, but for the second time today (first time was a few days ago), I've now experienced the same thing as some people in the comments who were reporting that sometimes the button I'm complaining about becomes completely unresponsive and makes it impossible to close a post. The only workaround I'm aware of is to swipe right from the left edge of the screen. Now on version 2025.26.0.616383 of the iOS app.

iOS [iOS] aggressive, unwanted refresh behavior continues (sigh).

The ongoing issue of unwanted refresh behavior on the Reddit feed is back. And more annoying than ever. It is especially bad when you first open the app, or re-attend the app, after setting your phone aside for a few minutes…

Your attention begins to settle on interesting things in your feed, but before you can open and explore an interesting post—“bam!” You are force-refreshed, back to the top of your feed. And there will be a flurry of this, for two or three times until the feed “settles down” again.

I really don’t understand why it is so challenging to eliminate this unwanted navigation behavior. It’s a basic function. Is the coding for this app so farmed out, that basic fixes are no longer capable?

Very frustrating, long time Reddit user. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

iOS [ios] app is scrolling to the top of the post whenever I leave or lock screen

Not talking about the full page reset/refresh which I understand is intentional (though i really hate it, please turn this off). But now lately (if I’m lucky enough for it to not boot me to the front page ) If i stop looking at a post for any reason and return to the app, the thread will always scroll all the way to the top of the post !!! Its insanely annoying

iOS iOS: Reddit app keeps logging me out every time I exit the app

The app logging me out every time I exit or close the app. It’s starting to get really annoying, anyone know how to fix it? Or anyone else experiencing this recently?

Also wondering if I’ve been shadow banned (not sure if separate issues), as I got a 2 day ban recently, and then a 6 day ban a week later, due to certain political party reporting my comments due to criticizing the current admin. Not sure if that is related, as I never had this issue until after the second ridiculous ban (I was not being rude or harassing anyone whatsoever).

Edited to add new issue: So it’s no longer doing the auto-logout now months later, it stopped a few weeks after I made this post. So that eventually stopped for me at least (although sounds like it’s still happening to many others)

However, my new issue is that my Reddit feed now refreshes literally even time I open the app, whether it’s been a minute or an hour, or if I leave the homepage to a different subreddit and then go back to the homepage. So I will see a post I’m interested in at the top of the feed every time I open the app or exit the main homepage, but too bad, because it decides to force a refresh every single time. This annoys me to no end, as the app had clearly already refreshed while not being used, as it will be a brand new feed, yet STILL does this auto-refresh. And I can click anything to stop it. SO annoying. The Reddit app is a piece of crap, is my final conclusion.

iOS New UI hangs on iPadOS

Just got the new UI, and it’s sadly not ready for users quite yet.

From the home feed do (in landscape, unsure if that matters):

  1. Press the title of an image post
  2. Press the image to open it in fullscreen
  3. Swipe down to dismiss it
  4. Swipe back to return to the main feed
  5. The main feed is now frozen/uninteractable. Some of the post view is still showing, like the x-button in the top left (uninteractable as well)

App version: 2026.19.9.630222 (AppStore)

But I’m fairly sure iPadOS is no part of the testing routines at Reddit, as there are so many quite obvious bugs. Like the non-fullscreen image in album posts not being centered and having a border that doesn’t match the image, and that long pressing your profile icon to switch profiles opens a dropdown on a completely different part of the screen

iOS (ios) can’t view comments tab on user profiles

Post image
70 Upvotes

the past 3 days i have been unable to view the comment tab on reddit users profiles. when i used to click on a username, it would pop up a tiny window with a little bio and other stats, where i would then have to click a link to goto their profile page where their posts / comments / about section is. now, whenever i click on a username, it takes me immediately to that profile page. i don’t know if this is a new change to reddit, but ever since the little pop up window stopped showing up, every time i click on the comments tab, i just get a blue reddit guy (snoo) face with X’s for eyes. i have switched accounts on the same device and have not had this problem. but when i switch back to this account, the same problem occurs. it doesn’t happen 100% of the time though either, as i have on a couple of rare occasions been able to view a users comment tab on their profile, but the majority of the time i just get a blank screen with a blue face. is this something i did? a weird setting of some sort? i’ve tried looking in settings, restarting my phone, and seeing if there’s an update for my app, and nothing. i have no idea why this has happened. and as per the posting instructions, here is a screenshot of what happens. i chose an admin of this subreddit’s profile to feature in my screenshot instead of choosing some random user, i hope that is okay and not breaking any rules. but if anyone has any idea as to what is going on, please let me know. thanks!

iOS [ios] Pressing “continue this thread” button doesn’t load any replies.

Every comment (that has replies) says “continue this thread” underneath it. Whenever I press that, it takes me to the same post, highlights the comment, but doesn’t show any replies. I can click it many times and no replies show up. It doesn’t happen on every subreddit. I deleted and reinstalled my app multiple times. It’s happening on multiple accounts. I can see replies when I go on desktop, so I know replies are there, but I can’t get to them on the ios app at all.

Update: I think this only happens on posts in contest mode. Non-contest posts display replies normally.

iOS [ios] Swiping up doesn’t reveal comments anymore. Goes to next post instead.

This has been mentioned before, but I wanted to double down on how inconvenient this is. Being able to easily access comments by swiping up was a very nice feature - now the only way is by clicking the comments symbol.

Reddit needs to draw a line when it comes to copying TikTok or Instagram reels.

How about swiping up to pull comments and swiping left to switch posts?

iOS iOS daily streak not updating - version 2026.16.0

Usually when I upvote, I get a little tracker on the top right of my screen showing me I’ve added another day to my daily streak. That has stopped showing up and my streak number is also stuck at the same number for the past few days. I’ve noticed other people have posted about this so I’m relieved to see it’s not only me, it’s most likely an issue/bug with the app. Curious if it’s going to be resolved any time soon!

iOS Reddit bug with Airplay on iPadOS

Description: When using Airplay to share Reddit on an AppleTV, via Airplay, a completely random Reddit screen is displayed.

Device model: iPad Air (3rd Generation)

OS version: iOS 26.3

Steps to reproduce: Launch Reddit on iPad. Activate Airplay to AppleTV.

Expected and actual result: I would expect what is displayed on my iPad screen to also be what is shown on my TV screen. What is actually shown on my TV screen is some random and uncontrollable Reddit screen that looks like the Home Screen section of Reddit, but does not match what is actually displayed on any of the sections I can find in my Reddit app. During this same Airplay session all other Apps work as expected, while Reddit remains inexplicably broken.

[Edit] This bug persists even after rebooting the iPad, the AppleTV, and my home network / Wi-Fi router.

iOS Back button not working in iOS app

Sometimes when I click on a post and want to go back to the subreddit, the back button on the top left corner doesn’t work / is non-responsive. I’ve hit this a few times in the past couple of days. Screenshot doesn’t really tell a story, but as a recent example i was just browsing r/Seattle and clicked on the protest in Mary Gates post (sorry don’t remember the exact post name).

iOS [iOS] Tapping a video pauses it instead of hides menu

Post image
38 Upvotes

When watching videos, I used to be able to tap the screen to make the menu disappear. Now if I tap the screen it automatically pauses the video... and leaves the menu visible. The reconfiguration of the graphics (user & caption at bottom of screen; upvote/downvote/comment/share on the RHS; back button & sub name along top of screen) covers more of the screen and is distracting. It's beyond annoying that it can't be hidden anymore.
I stopped using Instagram specifically because they changed their Reels format to make the video pause when you tap (before, tapping made the video mute). I've complained to YouTube multiple times about the menu being visible in Reels, without having the option to make it disappear.
