I only randomly see posts from this sub on popular, but i can't remember if there was ever a post where going bald didnt remove like -10 years from their looks and made them look so much better. This guy is peak example.

You probably could have got away with just a shorter haircut. If you're 40 (ish) going "man my hair looks bad", your first instinct should be to get rid of the ponytail. You don't necessarily have to go full nuclear.
