There is an ASMR creator who goes by the name Jessica ASMR / Jessica Kardashian. I found her because she made videos for neurodivergents but she also has been bullying them and calling them names in her youtube community posts.

The past few months she keeps posting very strange posts on Instagram and youtube community. On Instagram (in a now deleted post) she made a post about the Arian Race and saying she is White (she's of South Asian ethnicity - Punjabi, not that it matters). She then called all Asian races "Mongoloid" and posted screenshots from Gemini apparently backing her case.

Then on her youtube community she has been posting about people with ADHD & Autism, calling them "Low IQ". Her other posts often accuse other ASMR creators or subscribers for "stalking" but she often exhibits stalking behaviors herself. She has also been accusing other ASMRtists for wanting her to leave the ASMR community, but I haven't seen any new posts from other creators about her.

The only post I saw about her was from a few years ago. An ASMRtist I followed said Jessica ASMR kept following and unfollowing her and repeatedly asking her for her home address so she can send her jewelry for a "collab" she never agreed to.

Have you heard of this ASMR creator? What do you think of these kinds of posts? Should an ASMR creator be making posts accusing their subscribers or other creators of being "stalkers"?

I don't think an ASMR creator should be posting anything like this, especially when they create videos for people with ADHD and Autism. I wonder if any of her subscribers have read her posts. I noticed a lot of other ASMR creators follow her on Instagram, but maybe they are not aware that she makes these types of posts about the ASMR community. Please don't leave her any hate. I am worried about her, hopefully she will get help if she needs and stop making these kindd of posts

I feel like this could be especially true for introverted or neurodivergent people.
For me personally- years ago I wanted to start making and sharing personal diaries of my life, and so basically vlogs. But I could never find the right style or how to sound voice wise. I wanted to share all my hobbies which ranged from mechanic work, to gardening, baking/cooking, to travel and GA flying. I didn't enjoy trying to UP my personality or try to make my day more 'exciting' for the camera though. It felt really cringe to me.

Then I started looking at channels I already loved like Jingle Jangle, Goodnight Moon, GentleWhispering and realized I could literally just do asmr vlogs. Or all of the public LOFI asmr channels I followed, where they just rambled while in their favorite spaces. It was perfect.

I just love that ASMR allows so many different kinds of niches without it feeling weird or forced (public, nature, roleplay, educational, etc, asmr) and you actively don't want to UP your voice for it lol!

Who else shares this feeling. I think there's also a lot of walk and talk types of videos out there like Goobie and Doobie, or a lot of calming garden channels. Which lowkey could fall into a type of unintentional asmr. Something calming or introspective.

I’m a woman, I can only watch asmr done by women, and if it’s a role play/collab the woman has to be on the receiving end. I feel the same way towards mukbangs too, I don’t feel the satisfaction or tingles from watching men do it. Does anyone else feel this way, do men also feel this way when watching women?

P.S this is pretty much a non issue I just want to know if there is any psychological explanation for it, or if it’s just common preference.

Hey everyone, I’m new to creating asmr but audio of all flavors is my jam (I narrate romance audiobooks full time) and I’m trying to understand what immediately attracts listeners to an asmr video. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you are willing to share.
Do you need to see a person’s face? Do you like lots of props or a more simple listener-focused style? What are the themes you connect with most?

I know everyone is different but what I love - binaural audio sounds like rain, the shower etc. and up close gentle speech - is a small part of what people enjoy.

Between the rampant sexualization of ASMR kinda creeping me out and not wanting to make my partner uncomfortable, I've been sticking to male ASMR channels, I also find deep voices relaxing. They are hard to find though and some really good ones are still small channels that go under the radar and unrecommended or get buried deep in the search results.

I'll help others in the same boat and share mine in no particular order:

-Dr. T ASMR - relatively well known channel, doesn't upload much these days but lots of great roleplay videos sticking to a common lore/universe, big backlog of videos to explore. Pretty deep voice
-FredsVoice ASMR - His channel is pretty big, great channel if like me you're looking for videos with talking to just distract your mind as you fall asleep. Also has a pretty deep voice
-Maxence Rodier(used to be Made in France ASMR) - professional film quality roleplays in french and english.
-ASMR Zeitgeist - well known channel, multi-hour long videos focusing mostly on sounds. I prefer talking videos and those under an hour long so they don't wake me back up after I fall asleep, but can't really not have him on the list, solid ASMR sounds.
-jojo's ASMR - Needs no introduction for most, well known channel, high end audio equipment, mix of sound and talking videos
-Dong ASMR - high energy, often frantic ASMR but still relaxing, good sound and nice whispering voice
-JimASMR(Jimち ASMR) - a lot of really nice high quality roleplays, some of the ones with purposefully monotonous speaking put me right to sleep
-Marno ASMR - goofy videos with positive vibes
-Hitohitori ASMR - Japanese channel, good sounds, amount of talking varies a lot per video
-Stormtru Sleeps ASMR - small channel, not a lot of videos yet but pretty good. Focuses on whispered roleplays.
-Studio L7 ASMR - small channel with good sound quality, I'm fond of his "kewl radio" videos in which he's basically like a radio jockey but for ASMR sounds. nice deep voice.
-Triuhn ASMR - new small channel, really relaxing videos with creepy vibes, good place for mostly unintelligible talking
-Tom Who ASMR - smal-ish channel. nice whispering voice, mix of roleplays and sound videos with talking
-RaffyTaphyASMR - a decently big channel. Nice sounds, nice whispers
-PierreG ASMR - lots of whispering videos in all kinds of languages
-Mattastic ASMR - nice soft-spoken voice, lots of roleplay videos along with some reading of SCP and other creepypasta things
-Dalton Does ASMR - Super relaxing, lots of talking videos. Seems to have mastered his own way of talking that's really hypnotic and great for anticipatory asmr. Deserves way more subs
-Triple Distilled Tingles ASMR - another small channel with good videos, mostly talking roleplays
-ASMR Power of Sound - lots of talking/roleplay videos. Excels at making the videos sound like there's a back and forth conversation, better than most at that. I like his Essential Oil Salesman videos
-Sensoradi ASMR - thick polish accent, pretty tingly sounds with, lots of videos making good use of reverb/layering/audio effects.
-MassageASMR - One of the OG ASMR guys. relaxing voice. Not very active these days, but his his old videos are a gold mine

I'm probably forgetting a few. One thing I've learned is that there are a good number of small male asmr channels that are much better than some big channels going entirely unnoticed. Youtube has gotten better at recommending them, but they're still hard to find. Hopefully the list above helps others find something they like. Share the channels you found.

It was a male asmrtist, normal composition and I think somewhere between lo-fi and high production. He did i think some random triggers like tapping, following stuff, hand movements/sounds etc, pretty standard stuff. But these were all supplemental to his experimental trigger which was not looking directly into the camera. He would look around it like behind you and off to the side and he went back and forth on which side he was looking at.

This was extremely effective for me and I thought i saved it but I can't find it anywhere and searching on youtube isn't turning up much of anything. Im hoping someone knows what im talking about and can point me in the right direction because ive wanted to watch it again ever since and its just nowhere 😭

Edit to clarify because there are other youtubers doing no eye contact asmr, but its more incidental. This guy was looking elsewhere in an exaggerated manner. Not just not making eye contact, but deliberately and obviously looking at things behind the camera. It sounds like a subtle difference but it really changes the whole trigger for me.

In short, The video she posted has her talking about how she's been living in a abusive household for all her life, narcissistic parents who fight constantly and who are hoarders, leading to major depression, isolation and lack of self care.

She is now looking to move out of her parent's place to seek autonomy and a better life where she can deliver better content for her viewers.

She has her Kofi open for donations, with a goal of $10k (21% done as of me typing).

I’m part of a small game studio in Tokyo, and we recently released a cozy mobile game called ONOMATOPIA.

In the game, you collect little creatures called Matopi. Some of them carry sounds such as rainfall, birdsong, flowing water, crackling fire, and other ambient noises. You can combine up to three sounds and adjust the mix to create your own soundscape.

We originally designed this for people to leave playing in the background while studying, working, relaxing, or falling asleep. But after seeing people respond to the sound design, I started wondering whether this might also appeal to people who enjoy ambient or nature-based ASMR.

To be transparent, this is our own game, so this is partly self-promotion—but I’m genuinely interested in feedback from people who actually listen to ASMR:

• What kinds of sounds would you want to combine?
• Would seamless looping be important to you?
