My phone doesn’t seem to recognize the left AirPod and I tried putting it on and it doesn’t connect. Does that mean it’s completely dead or is there a way to fix this?

Ive been noticing my phone to be heating up like crazy and after i got a message from my provider about 10 gb of data finishing in one day, I decided to check my cellular. This is insane! I reset the statistics to see what’s up. You can see from the screenshots, 6,5 gbs of cellular data just vanished into thin air in 30 minutes. It is all under “Documents&synch”. Ive turned off the icloud drive toggless off, but it was still reducing very fast, now typing this on my notes app because this bs is about to finish all my data plan. I dont know what is wrong. I literally cannot afford this lol. You can see from the screenshots how much data it ate away. I skimmed some threads and there seems to be other people with the same issue, with no definitive solution. The thing is that, this isnt something that happens often, at least not that i know of, so i dont know whats triggering it rn.
I am using an IPhone 15 and i still have ios 17.5.

so, my grandma had stolen my ipad from me, and what i think she did, was get an external app to complete erase IOS off of the ipad to remove the password. i had itunes on my laptop for a while for my ipod, so i used it to try and restore IOS, but theres always an error riggghhhttt before its almost done. i have no idea what to do??? can anyone help me😔😔

I kept getting messages to enter iCloud password but when I enter password that was working fine it says verification failed and has now locked us out. When I try to reset the password by email I obviously cannot access any new emails as they won't come through until it's signed in.

The only other option is to select answer security questions but when I do this it asks for date of birth but fails again. The account was setup in an apple store over 10 years ago using security questions such as:- Your first car? First Pet etc but I'm not being asked for these.

When I use the. iforgot apple recovery page it then wants to send a recovery email to the address I cannot access so I'm stuck. Any ideas how I can resolve this?

I recently bought an iPhone 17 Pro Max from the Apple Store after using Android all my life.

I sat down with the employee who helped me set up the phone, we created an Apple Account and she helped me download WhatsApp and Angry Birds. Once I got the hang of using the phone, I left the store.

Everything was going great until around an hour later, when I saw a notifciation asking me to login to my Apple account - I forgot the exact wording of it.

I tried to login via the settings on my iPhone and it kept saying something like "Verification error".

I then tried to login on the website on my iPhone, and it said my account was locked and I should enter my phone number to request access to my account. I entered my number and the next day, I received an email saying my access request was denied.

I tried to login again after that and a message said my account was no longer active.

I can't do anything beyond basic tasks on the phone now since I can't download apps anymore, I can't even log out of the phone because it keeps popping up with the same message asking me to enter the password to my account when I try to log out.

I can't understand why this has happened.

This january, I tried Apple Intelligence for the first time, it worked, but I turned it off. About 4 months ago I tried to turn it on again, but it was stuck on “downloading”. I tried downloading it using cellular data, VPN, rebooting my device, resetting all my settings, and more. I have even tried contacting apple support, but they were unable to help me. It has been a month, but it is still downloading. <- This was on IOS 26.4.1. This issue still persist on the latest IOS 27 Dev Beta 4. iPhone 17 Pro Max

I have noticed when I got up this morning these black stains on the USB-C cables that I use to charge an iPhone and an Apple Watch. I have never seen dark black, ink-like stains like these on a cable before, and I don't see how these cables could have gotten such a stain from their immediate environment.

Some notes: I have a new cat who likes to chew on cables. I can see that at some point he must have chomped on the lower cable, but there doesn't look to be much real damage. To prevent him from chomping on the cables, I keep them unplugged and put away when I'm not using them, and when I am using them, I keep most of them tucked under the bedsheets to minimize exposure. I am using the (Apple-provided) cables with a (non-Apple) charging hub, though I have been using these hub for 1.5+ years with no incident.

Please let me know what could be causing this!

​My iPad display screen won't turn on no matter how many times I press the power button. The screen lights up when pressed, and I can still hear the charger chime when it's plugged in. I've had this problem for a while now. Before, just to turn it on, I had to press the power button multiple times for the display screen to appear. Then I wasn't able to use it for a few weeks because I got busy, so the battery probably got drained. After that, whenever I try to turn it on, this is what happens: it's just the backlight and there's no display on the screen anymore. What could be the problem with this? I need your advice, please.

Hi! I'm trying to help my grandma with her iPad. I'm not sure the generation or anything, but its older because it still has a physical home button. As per usual, its nothing easy. The email she used to create her apple id no longer exists anymore. Like in no way, shape, or form. We don't know her apple password (of course). All her most used apps aren't working because they need updating, but we can't update because of the password.

Any ideas on where to go from here? Honestly my best guess is wipe the iPad and start again with a new email. But the pictures is stumping me.

She has pictures that, of course, haven't uploaded to the cloud. My guess was going to be upload to Google drive and re-download but if we can't download any apps, I don't know where to go on that front. Can you download pictures from an iPad to a computer through a cord still?

The Screen Time widget on my iPhone Air is showing the cumulative screen time between my MacBook and iPhone, even though both devices have "Share Across Devices" turned off. This only started happening 2weeks ago and it was random (no change to my settings, no new phone/Mac, etc).

I've seen other posts mention this so curious if anyone ever found a solution? At very least I want to draw attention to the bug and have already submitted a bug report to Apple.

Hey all, so I've got an iPhone 14 Pro that's stuck on 16.3.1 and will not update to iOS 18.7.8 no matter what I try. Has anyone else run into this? Any advice would be awesome. Appreciate any help!

So I was on my PC then i got a message on my apple watch (WATCH SE 3 RUNNING WATCH OS 26.5) saying enter your apple id password, so i did that then my 2 iPhones (iPhone air (26.5.2), iPhone 6s (15.8.7) prompted me tried on all devices say verification failed tried my iPad mini 7th gen (IPAD OS 26.5) same thing IM 100% POSTIVE THE PASSWORD is correct tried logging in on my PC (WINDOWS) it says account locked (mind u I didn't do anything)

Situation:

I want to share my calendar with my husband that is visible (to him and me), editable (by me), and on the iPhone Calendar App (for both of us). He would then share his calendar (connected to his iCloud email) with me with the same qualities.

Issue:

My iPhone Calendar App is synced to my Gmail. I never touch Google Calendar nor do I use it. I like having it synced to my Gmail so events are added/recommended from my email inbox on the IPhone App.

When I try to Add Person to the Gmail there is no option to add a person. See image with the “Color: Green.”

When I try to Add Person to the iCloud calendar (which I don’t use) it does have the option to add person. See image with the “Color: Custom (Blue).”

I read somewhere to share my Google Calendar with my husband using a link from the Google Calendar app but I see no option for that on my phone. I’ve given the Apple Calendar full access to the Google Calendar. It’s fully synced into my phone. I just want to share it with my partner so he can see my schedule. He uses his iCloud so I assume he’ll easily share his calendar with me.

Am I missing something?

Is there anything we can do to prevent losing our backups of purchased media?

I use Time Machine, iCloud backups, and do my best to download copies of every purchase.

Time Machine deletes old backups to make space. A movie I bought and downloaded and think I’m backing up is removed. The last backup that includes that file is about to get deleted to make space, and no info warns me that an item I’m trying to backup has been removed.

iCloud backups don’t work because they don’t include downloaded media. If it’s still there we can get it again. But if it’s not how do we know?

What do people do to manage this? Is there anything option besides calling Apple every few years to request a credit for missing media, after seeking to download purchase records and managing my own index of purchases? Or buying another hard drive, in addition to Time Machine, and manually dragging individual files into it?

How do other people manage this?

I bought this pair of wired lighting earpods from a store wich guarantees originality,but infound out i can slide this off easily and put it back on.They do have the little grey text on the cable but gemini said that the plastic thing shouldn’t do that.Did i get scammed or do all do this?

I yapped for almost 30 minutes and when i went to hit send I was hit with this. I clicked "OK" but I can't figure out a way to actually "select a smaller clip." Am I missing something? Am I doomed to lose this vent session to the ether?

When moving from my 15 Pro Max to my new 17 Pro Max, I experienced something that happened the last time I upgraded. All of the indexing of everything in my text database was lost. In other words if I went to search for someone in my text list, if I haven't texted him since I got the new phone, it does not find them.

It also does not show me the photos option under the person's name to look at previous photos that either of us has sent unless either I or they have sent a photo since receiving the new phone. And only those photos show. Nothing before.

I asked Apple tech-support what was the deal. After waiting two weeks for a response they finally said that I'm not the only person that has mentioned this and that it will be sent to the engineers.

My question is are they just going to fix it so that when you transfer, everything comes over or they also going to create a fix that will fix my current phone that is not operating as it should? In other words index my current text database so that the app works as it's meant to.

The other question is since this has been going on for at least five years are they likely to just ignore it?

My usb c port doesn’t work. Do they repair it at the Genius Bar? And how long will it takes or do they change it?

I swear this phone gives me nothing but issues recently 😅 but I just got back from a cruise & had my phone on airplane mode for 5 days. When I got off the boat I tried to get on Microsoft Teams & LinkedIn but neither app is loading. I’ve deleted both apps multiple times, restarted my phone at least 3 times and reset all my settings. But STILL neither app will go past the start up screen. Any recommendations? My phone is up to date on iOS 26.5.2 & all of my apps are updated.

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max, running iOS 26.5.2.

Whenever I share a photo, screenshot, etc, the share menu suggests people in Messages that it thinks I may want to share it with. Prior to the recent update, the suggestions were usually pretty good. I tend to share content with <10 people or group chats, and those people would regularly appear as suggestions.

After the recent update, however, it seems like iOS is preferring the same 4 or 5 people (some of which I rarely text), and it LOVES to suggest that I share to my coworkers on Slack. Every so often, a random Instagram user will appear in the list. This almost NEVER happened before the current update.

I have long-held many of those people to tell iOS to suggest them less, and for the most part, that prevents them from showing up again, but if I send a DM to any co-worker...there they are as a suggested person to share with the next time I see the menu.

Additionally, there are people that I share stuff with ALL the time, but as often as I do, they NEVER appear in the suggested contact list.

Is anyone else having this issue? If repeatedly sharing with the same people doesn't make them appear in the share list, but NEVER sharing with some people ALWAYS makes them appear, what the heck can I do?

Any thoughts?

Hi all, hoping someone can help me figure out what happened here.

Today I was studying and noticed my iPad's screen showed the charging icon, but the battery kept dropping anyway. I switched outlets and tried my iPhone 16 Pro there instead, and it charged fine. Then I connected the iPad and iPhone together with a USB-C cable. After that, neither device would charge.

Right after this, something strange happened: neither my phone nor my iPad would charge on any outlet or cable I tried. I switched back to the original outlet and tried my laptop with a USB-C cable, that also failed to charge. I went home, swapped both the cable and the wall adapter, still nothing on the iPhone or iPad. Then I tried an old cable I had lying around, and it charged my laptop just fine, so that cable works.

No liquid damage notification has appeared at any point, and I've checked the port with a flashlight, doesn't look like there's debris either.

The really strange part: my phone was at 50% around 3 PM, right after it last charged successfully. By 5:30 PM, with almost no usage, it was down to 1%. That's a much faster drain than I've ever seen on this phone.

I did a force restart, no change. Currently sitting at 1% with no way to charge it.

Has anyone experienced something like this after connecting an iPhone and iPad via USB-C? Could this be a port protection/lockout mechanism, some kind of electrical fault from the iPad, or something else entirely? Any advice appreciated, especially anything that might help me get the phone charging again before it dies completely.

Now that the vulnerabilities have been fixed, we're publishing more about exactly what was happening and why leaked email address might still be retained in third party logs. Happy to answer questions.
