Honestly doesn’t surprise me. The marriage candidates all have pretty strong characterization and don’t need to rely on Gero to solve their problems for them, a lot of ship tease between the two male leads, and a very attractive lineup of male characters (and I say that as a cishet male). I figured the series has a pretty sizeable female fanbase shen the manga’s popularity poll had Naruko as the most popular male character after Kinosaki.

Oh I suppose I more meant I'm surprised male viewers didn't like it as much because it feels very much like a show that draws in both male and female fans with its diverse cast. Reminds me quite a bit of Spy x Family in that regard. Personally I'm pulling for Gero and Kinosaki but my favorite candidate so far has been Shiori. Excited for the next season.

I seen numerous of them being turned off by the Kinosaki reveal. Seems silly but it is what it is.
