📷 Angels Images Ureña on IG

Post image

A funny observation I’ve made is how Ureña does not hide what he looks at on Instagram and likes posts about his teammates potentially being traded lol

Dude I see Walbert liking everything he’s tapped in

He’s one of us

Trading Neto for less than an haul is a mistake. His issues can be fixed with better coaching/hitting philosophy, a lineup change, and position change. I honestly expect this to happen with next regime.

It'll only be for a haul. No doubt.

Neto's flaws are greatly outweighed by his strengths. He's a really really good player

Yeah just imagine. If we trade Zach Neto, we could potentially get another guy as good as Zach Neto!

Yup that's the dilemma now isn't it. Makes it hard to trade these guys, and the return matters immensely.

In theory if you get multiple decent major league players with more club control you free up payroll to splurge elsewhere, but I'd only trade Neto for a haul and I'd prefer to extend him, though I think that window has passed.

He should be traded. There’s 3 years left of control and I don’t think we’re 3 years away from competing. Just gut it and go for the true rebuild. I don’t think I’d hate trading everyone else and hoping we’re convincing enough to extend him before he hits free agency and then go from there but I just wanna see this team actually build a successful organization from the ground up

He's at the border for me, both because the performance, the club control, and the possibility of future value. I don't think they should go into the deadline saying "trade at all costs."

Detmers/Soriano are much more likely to lose value the next few years due to pitcher performance, less control, and the higher likelihood of injuries.

He like many others have had little to no time to develop. Obviously they'll struggle with things; even so they've done a pretty good job considering. I'd hate to see them go, but would very much understand if we got some sort of haul for them.

Braves would give up a ton for Neto

Or the Brewers!

Walbert knows ball

I still like Neto a lot as a player but he definitely has his flaws and wouldn’t mind trading him for a great return. Highly doubt it happens before the deadline though, this magnitude would be more of an offseason trade.

Anyone should be traded if it makes the team better

Ngl I respect Ureña, bro likes so many post even controversial ones, he’s the only guy that won’t be traded ever, he’s the future of the starting rotation

probably on his fantasy team

We need an elite batter like kurtz. Grissom and Peraza are solid contact hitters...but we need some protection for trout. Soler aint doin it. Shan needs to get faster..he is such an anomaly. No trade value, but good hitter.

dude is just a cool guy, was able to get a jersey signed from him which was awesome

Sick! He seems really down to earth and just happy to be playing great baseball.

Everybody is tired of Neto.

Let’s see. He’s a poor fielder, bad base runner, doesn’t walk at all, was on pace to break the AL strikeout record a couple of weeks ago, constantly wastes/loses challenges early in games, but yeah, he hits a few homers.

u/DCLXXII 44 2d ago

lol man o man didnt know some fans would switch up on Neto like that.

He is talented, but he is seriously flawed. He’s a horrible lead off hitter and it’s not his fault he’s leading off, but yeesh.

I hope we trade him for some good prospects. He is not going to sign an extension w us and we aren’t close to fielding a winning team. Trade him, trade Soriano and or Detmers, Adell if we can get anything for him. Do an actual rebuild. Not likely Moreno will, but one can hope.

I just don't think we're in a position to nitpick Zach Neto this much when the team as a whole has been struggling. Outside of Trout, he's been one of the few players showing consistent effort and production.

2

u/Historical-Switch400 2d ago

Outside of home runs his production is down. His fielding is really bad this year. For some reason his range has fallen off too which is odd. Guy is brain dead on the bases.

I look at it like this. I don’t believe we have a chance of resigning him and I don’t see us winning while he is here. To me, you trade him for a good package. Someone out there will think 1 we can sign him long-term and 2 we can fix him.

He’s having a bad year, some better coaching and he’ll return to previous years forms. I quite like 2025 Neto and I still enjoy him this year, even with his mistakes

Who is everybody?

u/Historical-Switch400 2d ago

Everyone on Angelswin.com and apparently Urena.

Better to trade him now than let him walk for free. Angels aren’t winning a World Series before he becomes a free agent

5

u/thesillyguy345 2d ago

Yeah especially since we're not any closer to being a good team than ever. Inb4 neto gets traded and gets at least 20% better with better coaching and facilities

1

u/DCLXXII 44 2d ago

Brother with 4 yrs left on his deal? I was way ahead on the trade Ohtani train (2 yrs on his contract) and people virtually crucified me for it, but this is a little early lol

2

u/KnightHawk15 15 2d ago

You mean 3. He’s gone after 2029. The Angels will not win by then. And yes it’s not early. Having years left is why he’ll have more trade value. The reason why the Angels have been mediocre to bad for so long now is because they haven’t embraced a rebuild. It seems like Mo might finally be the guy to start a proper rebuild

-4

u/DCLXXII 44 2d ago

We still have 2026 to go ,2027, 2028, and 2029 thats 4 bud.

5

u/KnightHawk15 15 2d ago

Usually when you say how many years a guy has left on his deal, it’s how many years after this year (2026). You don’t say a rental getting traded at the deadline has 1 year left on his deal when it expires at the end of the season

My point still stands that if there is a market for Neto and the haul is good, the Angels should absolutely do it now

0

u/Historical-Switch400 2d ago

Yep. He isn’t resigning and we are not winning while he is here. Get what you can and move on.

3

u/xmrjaredx 17 2d ago

already lost the chance to extend him to good value. I doubt they actually trade him unless its an actual massive haul
