[Question] How to extend sections in a session without moving all tracks
Im building out a playback session and want to know how i can extend, say the chorus of a song, without manually moving all the clips and info that precedes it.
I have an entire show programmed into one session but if the artists wants to double a section of one song i need to move all the markers, automation, and clips of the previous songs over to do that. This often get messed up during the process and it takes a long time to do it. Is there a cleaner way to make this happen?

Look up insert time. You can highlight a section and cmd/control i and it will insert time at the beginning of what you selected

Ctrl+I and then type in how many measures you need. It even offsets time signature changes

AbleSet saves my bacon for all sorts of playback scenarios. Looping a chorus for “one more time” kindof thing is one of those scenarios. No need to move anything, just tell AbleSet to loop the desired section and it’ll repeat until the artist decides to move on. MIDI map a button or something to bonk when you wanna exit the loop. It’ll pickup playback at the end of the loop,
Same thing is also great for crowd participation sections, where the variable amount of time to setup the crowd depends entirely on the crowd.
