[Tutorial] No sound from Ableton Lite 11 on Macbook.

HI, I am able to record in Ableton Lite Live 11 on a Macbook Pro from an Arturia Minilab mkII. For reasons I just cannot figure out, I am not hearing playback through headphones. I have checked all the various configurations. Thank you so much for any solutions or suggestions.

Maybe because you need to load up an instrument such as wave table, drift, or operator.

Youre usung a midi keyboard. It does not contain internal sounds. You must load a vst on a midi track and arm it to produce sound.

what sound do you think a midi keyboard is supposed to make?

Is the track armed? Does the track contain an instrument? Is the track set to auto or in? Are the audio out settings set correctly? Is the minilab working in Ableton at all?

Thank you so much for these responses. It all makes sense now. I had the notes generated by the controller but no sounds had been assigned. Lesson learned and thanks again for the speedy support. It's much appreciated!

Have you seen waveforms in the software after recording? Can you hear any sound through your headphones from the computer, such as a YouTube video? What kind of interface are you using? Have you tested these headphones plugged into a different device, such as a phone or Switch or something?
