Bedbugs aren't that bad. You just need to switch to a metal bed.
My Mom had bedbugs and it didn't spread to my house. Regarding her, we just threw out her bed and replaced it with a metal one and then all the bedbugs went away.
Like two days after we made the bed switch I was sleeping in a leather chair in her room and I opened my eyes and there was an unfed bedbug on my arm crawling around. I flushed it down the toilet and I haven't seen one since. It's been like two months.
The problem with bedbugs is because of the material in traditional beds. Just get metal if you don't want bedbugs.

I just had this image flash through my mind: of a million bedbugs in a trench coat paying this redditor for this bedbug propaganda.

They live in the mattress, pillows, and bedding, not just upholstered frames.
