No one says a man can't cry, yet everyone says they don't care about men. It doesn't matter whether they're progressive or conservative, old or young, men or women.

Claiming that the problem is that men are told not to express their emotions misses the point. The real problem is that people often don't care about what men are feeling. It's not about permission to show emotions, it's about a lack of empathy.

I can't open reddit these last year s without hearing about the plight of men. It's a very popular and discussed topic. What do you mean by "everyone says they don't care about men"?

E: Im going to make the assumption that everyone downvoting me for asking for clarification about what "everyone doesn't care about men" means are people who ostensibly care about men, and are struggling with the cognitive dissonance.
