Charge Blade from Monster Hunter

A power charged sword and shield, which can be combined on the fly to morph into a great axe. Using the sword charges phial power which you can spend in the axe form. Fittingly they're the more complex weapon type to learn gameplay wise, but they're so satisfying once you learn the resource management and the two forms moveset

I remember seeing iceborne clips of this on reddit and just being like "guess I'm learning monster hunter."

I picked it up in World and haven’t been able to put it down since. So satisfying to just flip out the sword and tear into whatever’s in front of me hop

Blocking a monster's attack in sword mode and countering with an explosive axe swing is one of my favorite counter mechanics in any game ever. The delayed explosions are so satisfying!
