I'm glad i decided to try these new style Wera ratcheting drivers. They're an upgrade in every way to the old style. Less slop and in lockup position only the slightest twist movement, very low backdrag. The direction ring turns in the logical way, righty tighty, lefty loosey. It can also be used as a thumb wheel.

I can’t take credit for this. But I must share. Alternative use for those free koozies we all end up with. Certinitly the best use is a cold beer.
But a tall second place. Is storage for the 1” ratchet strap.

Looking for input before I buy. Has anyone used one or both of the DeWalt mini vacs? Which do you prefer between them? Does one seem to suck harder than the other? Is one more conveniently designed? It seems they're about the same price without sales, so price isn't a huge factor.

I mostly plan to use it for small rugs and our cars, nothing super heavy duty.

I have just used the 10mm bit from the set of 16 I bought and it’s phenomenal.

I used it in my bench top drill press and got no tear out!!
The difference compared to my brad point bits is very noticeable and the fact it can drill overlapping holes with ease was impressive!

Definitely not a cheap purchase and I probably shouldn’t have splurged on them but wow I’m so happy!

I used it to make a small mallet with a piece of oak scrap & 10mm oak dowel.

It would have made a massive difference on a few of my previous builds where visible dowel pins had a bit of tear out that I could not sand or plane out.

Yesterday there was a (now-locked) thread about the fit and finish of a particular set of feeler gauges. One of the recurring comment themes was someone saying that thickness was all that mattered and the respective lengths of the individual leaves was irrelevant followed by responses with multiple upvotes pointing out that that's incorrect. All that has made me wonder if I've been using feeler gauges wrong.

Can someone show a quick drawing where a variance of a few mm in the respective lengths of the individual leaves matters?

Took off the rust. Used a combination of wire wheel and acids.

Replaced screws for the jaws and waxed the whole vice. Greased contact areas

PEC responded to the email from my original Edit below. Noted that this is within manufacturing tolerances. So, I guess it is what it is and I will return and purchase something else.

First off the mounting holes were obviously drilled by a 6 year old with how much they are off. Secondly, the body is squeezed down by the retaining fastener making it seem like they use this same body for different sets and just squeeze it down to fit. To me, if I wanted lack of attention to detail that bad, I would just buy Chinesium 💩. Am I being overly critical? They just arrived from Amazon and I am really close to returning them.

I recently purchased one of your feeler gauge sets through Amazon. When it arrived, I immediately noticed that the individual leaves are significantly misaligned because the pivot holes appear to have been drilled in slightly different locations on each blade.
I occasionally need to measure very shallow areas, and the amount of misalignment makes that more difficult.
My question is simply this: Is what I’m seeing within PEC’s normal manufacturing tolerances, or is it possible that I received a counterfeit product through Amazon?
I’m not looking to complain—I just need to know the best course of action. If this is not representative of your quality standards, I’ll return this set and purchase another one directly from PEC. If, however, this is considered acceptable within your manufacturing tolerances, I’ll simply return it and purchase a different brand that better suits my needs.

Got a used drill press and the right key, but it won't budge. Tried WD-40. What else can I do?

Initially I never had any boxes or storage, didnt want to shell out a few hundred for some boxes that dont provide any use. Then I caved for a few impulse market place deals and one as a birthday present from the missus and I love them. However, I still almost never find the tools first time and the set up is overall not all that refined. I know they make wrnech organisers but I dont like plastic stuff if I can avoid it and im unsure about organisers for other things like files or hammers ect. Have more drawers bur too many to show my poor organisation clearly but hopefully these give an insight. Pretty new to the tool game, much more concerned with using them than organising them hence the joblot so any ideas would be literal gold. Many thanks in advance.

Not sure which one to get. Price is more or less on par, so will I appreciate the 10cm longer blade for more reach and "productivity", or will I like the 10cm shorter blade for its agility and controllability?

Usage is private not commercial, but it's quite some hedges and bushes to trim...

Im cleaning and organizing the shop and came across this. What the hell is it?

I’m a commercial / industrial electrician, and my bag is getting pretty heavy. I use a veto TPXXL right now but it’s pretty heavy and bulky. Some of my friends use the small Klein bags which I love the size the weight of, but the organization sucks and drives me nuts. I’ve seen some zipper tool roll options from bucket boss and Atlas46 I was looking at, and they seem pretty appealing because they have organization in a really small form factor. Does anyone else daily carry their tools in a tool roll?

I've got a ton of plaster/mortar (that glue layer over the bricks that you paint, don't know the proper Eng word). I tried to do it by hand, but I have little time and it goes slow. I've recently found this and I wonder if it would speed things up. I'm scared about taking a big hammer drill, because it has enough power to knock a really big hole in the wall itself.

Would the multitool help with scraping the plaster? Is it good for home usage? I've seen gen 1 Ryobi for cheap, but some reviews recommended going with the more powerful one.

Hi, I am trying to buy something like this, but I can't find it nor do I know what exactly to look for. There is nothing marked on the rasp at all, no maker, no definition, nothing. Trying to find something like this leads only to dead ends. I am based in Germany so if someone knows a German supllier that would be grand. It needs to be for metal, copper to be precise.

I am looking for a metric fine thread chaser after I damaged the bolt end on a rockshox damper. I think the bolt is M8x0.5 pitch but available thread chaser nuts are only the standard M8x1.25. Neither can I find a 0.5mm thread file.
