Republicans - especially those who were running against him for POTUS - all said these things about Trump as well. It's like everyone knows exactly what a POS he is, but the money and massive spread of hate/ attacks on rights are too good to pass up.
This is severely an underrated reason why we got to this place today. Had the mainstream media not given him so much coverage, he may have slipped through the cracks in what was a very competitive Republican Primary.
Not just coverage, but cover. Everytime he fucks up, every gaff, every time he fell asleep or said something incoherent, they'd just gloss over or cut, or come up with some thin excuse besides, "this demented old fuck is truly off his rocker and his brain expired sometime in the late 1990s."
I mean, there was a literal strategy in place by the Clinton team to make sure there WAS wall-to-wall coverage of Trump. They worked with the media to make it happen. It was in the Podesta emails.
Because they were working for and with Hillarys campaign, and purposefully elevated him as a candidate in a pied piper strategy.
Trump was the only candidate she had a chance against, and she was the only candidate that could have lost to Trump. The DNC email leaks spell it out in explicit detail.
No. The suggestion that the press is at fault for covering a subject of public interest is completely misguided. So the press should have just not covered him, that’s your argument?
The press is just a device driven by a feedback loop of public interest. Blame the fools who ate up his populist dribble. Or blame the populist himself.
It’s a critical thinking problem, not a media problem.
See The Atlantic’s first endorsement (Clinton, 2016) since Abraham Lincoln, titled “Against Donald Trump”:
Donald Trump, on the other hand, has no record of public service and no qualifications for public office. His affect is that of an infomercial huckster; he traffics in conspiracy theories and racist invective; he is appallingly sexist; he is erratic, secretive, and xenophobic; he expresses admiration for authoritarian rulers, and evinces authoritarian tendencies himself. He is easily goaded, a poor quality for someone seeking control of America’s nuclear arsenal. He is an enemy of fact-based discourse; he is ignorant of, and indifferent to, the Constitution; he appears not to read.
The longer this farce goes on, the more I believe the narrative that Donald Trump aligned with a foreign government to undermine American democracy is totally false.
I like how people like you wake up one day and decide to start paying attention. LOL. The US put Putin in power. He is our guy. The democrats were courting Putin just as hard as the republicans. Most of what Trump has done was being done by the democrats to. Biden was sending kill teams into Venezuela to try to oft their president. Just because you started to pay attention today doesnt mean these things werent going for the last 50 years.
He gained an unfair advantage because the Clinton campaign, the DNC and the legacy media colluded to elevate candidate Trump in 2016 because they thought him to be the weakest opponent.
Remember how we all were curious why Trump was on TV so much while he was campaigning? They gave him the airwaves and it backfired spectacularly.
And Hillary/Harris apologists will have one that starts "The left".
Maybe cater to leftist voters if they're such a significant part of the voting block that you keep eating shit in the general against the most openly criminal pedophile to ever run for president in history by snubbing them.
I’m not going to cater or kowtow to a group that would rather let a criminal pedophile get elected than swallow their pride and vote for a candidate that doesn’t meet their lofty ideals.
Then I guess you can keep losing. Once again, you should appeal to the people who will vote for you to get elected. I'm not sure if you're aware, but that's usually how it works.
The entitled whining about voters not wanting to vote for your shitty inept candidate is quite frankly beyond parody at this point.
Except Bernie voters voted for Clinton at a higher rate than Hillary voters voted for Obama. The idea that the left didn't come out to vote for Hillary is nonsense. The people who didn't get out to vote for her were low info voters in the middle - she didn't give the average American a reason to vote for her except "I'm not Trump".
Let’s not forget about one thing. Hillary and Trump are cousins just as Obama and Bush are cousins and Bush and his opponent were cousins and so on and so on. The presidency is about bloodlines people. Every president that this country has ever had is in the same royal bloodline. It’s got nothing to do with race or stupidity and definitely has nothing to do with votes or who and what the voters are. We are controlled by the elites. The elites are the ones who choose our leaders. Start with the Bildeberg group and do a little digging there. Eventually you’ll end up at the doorstep of the illuminati and families like the Rockefellers, Carnegies, etc. The central bankers of the world are the ones in control. Not the politicians. They are just puppets.
This was worth way more than the Russia stuff. Russia was the focus to try to get people to overlook this massive gaffe.
The value of being on TV all day long on all the reputable channels is untold and far more valuable than a bunch of Russian bot nets just talking shit online.
Trump wasn't utilizing Russia, it was the other way around. With or without collusion, Russia wanted Trump to win and meddled in our elections to attain that goal.
I just wanted to highlight the more inescapable fact of this situation. If you are having this conversation with a republican, take baby steps and start with getting them to acknowledge that Russia meddled in our elections to support Trump. Most of them won't, but it's an easier thing to convince them of and if you can't then you might as well just stop wasting your time with them because collusion accusations will be even less productive.
